An OK place to stay for the night

The room is ok, but I must complain about the windows. I COULDN'T CLOSE THE WINDOW for room 27! So it was really cold at night. I had to turn on air conditioner all night, which was really noisy. But you get what you pay.

Roach Motel, Rude Desk reception

Very rude, unpleasant reception. One room had no tv remote, no internet, and no phone. Saw roaches in both rooms. Carpet was filthy, sheets were old and dirty. Breakfast was a joke. Location was excellent, but there seemed to be many better options available in the immediate neighborhood. Even disregarding the rude management, this hotel does not qualify as a single star. Had the rooms not been pre-paid, we would have left despite the hassle of finding another hotel.

No pool, and it gets worse

Seriously, spend the extra $12 it would cost to go the next cheapest place in Springdale, and don't sully your experience at Zion National Park here. It's very well located, but really not worth the savings. While I'm no stranger to low-cost lodging, this place is definitely in the running for the worst American lodging I've ever stayed in. The day we arrived, Springdale's forecast high was 103. My wife called to verify they had a pool, as there was mixed information online about whether they had one. The man who answered either pretended not to understand the question or refused to acknowledge it squarely, instead talking about the non-smoking rooms and other mumblings. Funny thing is, there was an answer to whether they had a pool or not: yes, BUT THERE'S NO WATER IN IT. It should've been pretty easy to answer that question. The carpets seemed to be from the pre-shag era (1965?) and last cleaned (if ever) during the Ford Administration. The furniture looked like former rent-to-own quality furniture that had been retrieved from a clearance sale at a second-hand store--its faux wood stickers were faded and peeling and it was literally falling apart. The toilet had a warning to hold down the handle, but even doing so did not consistently assure one that the contents were removed (yuck!). Suffice it to say, we turned out the lights with a good case of the heebie-jeebies. The icing on the cake was the clear contempt the owner/manager and the staff had for the guests. Frowns and diversionary tactics, all around. A particularly fond memory, was when we returned to our room only to be locked out: the knob wouldn't turn at all after the key card gave the ok. The manager/owner happened to be inside the adjacent room, coincidentally talking with those guests about their own door knob. I asked him how we could get into our room. He had to use the manager key to get in, and said my problem was that I didn't know how to use our room key. I showed him that the knob also didn't turn on the inside, but he raised his volume and insistence the issue was my incompetence with the key. Guess what, pal? I've used a few hotel keys before, and it wasn't the frigging key. Luckily, we only left the room just one more time.

Beautiful view of Zion Mountains

Everything about this place was old and dated. Bathroom very small, water leaked from the sink. Pool was empty. Soda machine was a plus and cheap. Good location, however there were other nicer hotels in the same location. Not worth the amount paid. Didn't bother with the CB that was set up in a corner of the check in area. Went up the road to a local cafe'.

place to sleep

Our room sloped down about 6 inches. Mold in the shower. 2 flush toilet. Breakfast was a joke. Small bugs but they were dead. Cheap place to sleep just outside of park. Half the price of other hotels but you know why.
