Simple, but enough

We were looking for a place to stay near Zion National Park and this hotel fit the bill. It's one half mile from the park entrance and we were able to catch the free shuttle next door to this hotel. The hotel, itself, is simple, but I'm not someone who expects a 5 star resort. The beds were comfortable, the complimentary breakfast was good (including waffles, sausage, eggs, cereal, juice, coffee etc...) and the staff was helpful. The hotel has a pool which my kids loved. It also has guest laundry facilities which is a nice touch given that we were hiking and got dirty/sweaty etc...There was wi-fi available in the room which was nice but there was no 3G coverage in the area so internet usage via cell phone wasn't possible. We stayed for 2 nights and couldn't have been happier. We ate at a little restaurant in town called Oscars and were so happy with it that we came back again the second night! There is a small canyon clinic approximately one half mile from this hotel. I attempted to go to the clinic as a walk in but found that it's only open on Tuesday and Thursday in the spring time. The next closest clinic was 20 miles away-something to consider if you have medical needs. But I digress...this hotel, while a tad high-priced (but then again, consider the area) was very accomodating and the location was perfect. We would stay there again for sure.

Take the free shuttle into Zion National Park. It stops right next door to the hotel. Also, there is a free shuttle into town so that driving is practically unnecessary.

Adequate at best

The lack of an elevator really bothered me-I don't like lugging luggage up stairs. Nothing special about this place. Bear in mind that this place doubles as an RV campground!

Zion stay

Hotel was in a great location, right next to Zion National Park. We never had to drive anywhere, the shuttle stopped right outside. Overall the hotel was great except we could hear every noise made by the families on either side of us. Luckily we wanted to go to Zion more than stay in the room. Great location.

Good Deal

I stayed at the Quality Inn so I'd be close to Zion National Park. It was very close to the park, and also within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The room was very clean and comfortable. I definately would stay there again.

It was about a half mile walk to most Springdale restaurants. It's off-season, so some of them are closed but I still found a few to choose from.

Great location, beautiful scenery

The room was nice, the staff friendly. The scenery is spectacular surrounding the hotel. The grounds are clean and well kept. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The friendly, cheerful buffet attendant cooked Belgian waffles for us and walked them to our table.

Fantastic basecamp for Zion

My friends and I had the pleasure of staying in two adjoining rooms with a connecting door, and used Quality Inn as an air-conditioned basecamp for two technical canyons and Angel's Landing. The Inn is extremely conveniently located just feet from the first stop on the Springdale shuttle which will take you to and from the Zion visitor's center for free. In combination with the free Zion Park shuttle, our group of 7 returned from The Narrows at the far end of the main park to Quality Inn without the need of any cars. As another huge bonus for canyoneers, Zion Adventure Company (*the* place to rent/buy canyon & Narrows gear) is across the street from Quality Inn, making pick ups and returns as easy as crossing the street. Finally, since Quality Inn has an accompanying RV park & campground, we were also able to find convenient places to wash off our dirty clothing and gear after the canyons. The "continental" breakfast was closer to a full-service breakfast complete with a hotel employee who cooked very good Belgium waffles for our entire group -- we enjoyed this very nice amenity all three mornings we were there. Both our rooms were fairly standard hotel rooms, but on the spacious side with a refrigerator and microwave in each. The air conditioners (one of the main reasons for choosing a hotel over camping) were more than strong enough to overcome the 106 F temperatures outside. I have previously stayed at Zion Lodge inside the park and even with the added benefit of being able to bring a car into the park when using the Zion Lodge, I still plan to try to stay at Quality Inn next time I come to Zion; my group and I were very pleased. For my ratings above, I consider a 5 to have little or no room for improvement, and a 4 is very good.
