Fun In the Snow
Our overall experience at Cliff Lodge was good. Things were very conveniently located and the ski in ski out was a super plus. The rooms are average hotel rooms. Only negative was the view from the room was more of a view of the parking garage than of the mountain. So I would say save your money and stay on the cheaper side! As the more expensive mountain side view room is some mountains, but mostly parking garage view. Overall our family enjoyed and will probably return again next year or the year after. Thanks for the great family time at Snowbird in the snow in Utah.

ski in ski out!!
The Cliff Lodge makes it so so easy to ski/board stress free! The ski/board lockers that come with each room are convenient and very roomy, and make it a pleasure to get ready for the mountain and just glide out the door from locker level to the slopes. The hotel even blows warm air into the lockers every evening so that all of your wet gear is cozy in the morning, and equipment is not in danger of rust. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Massage therapists at this hotel are top notch and eucaplyptus steamroom is perfect after a day on slopes. I would return again and again.

Money-saving tip:

If you stay in "spa room,' the spa is included in your rate (less crowded hot tub and eucalyptus steamroom). If in regular room, you pay about $25 per day per person to use the spa.

A concrete, souless hotel better served as a cold war bomb shelter
We booked this property because we ski 2-3 times a year and really prefer the ski-in, ski-out location. As our first time heading to Snowbird/Alta, we wanted something near the slopes. While Snowbird does not offer a rich variety of lodging, the Cliff seemed to be the best of the options when viewed online. Upon arrival the building looms like a concrete fortress stretching across the base. Built in the 80s, it screaming for refurbishment. We were there for the holiday season and the place was dark and dingy. Barely any holiday atmosphere with the only Christmas tree being stuck in the basement. The hotel lacks a common area or grand fireplace which would give it atmosphere. The hotel tries to hide the concrete with carpets everywhere which seems an odd fit to the Utah locale. It reminded me of ski vacations I took in Slovakia in the early 90s - large concrete souless hotels with drab interior that somehow depresses you. The rooms were functional, but nothing special. Flat screen TV a bonus. Save yourself some money if you must stay here and avoid the mountain view upgrade. It's a farce. We were on the 7th floor and you get a nice view of the parking garage and part of the slopes. No big deal. The other side you will also see the mountains as the lodge sits in the canyon. The food options were lousy across the resort. The lodge's Aerie Restaurant was closed for repair, so the only other options were in the dungeon/basement of the hotel. The buffet breakfast was mediocre. Like most buffets, they load it up with cheap carb items and I think the eggs were powdered. At 15.99 a person, you'd think they would offer more higher end options. Service across the lodge was haphazard. The breakfast gets chaotic and servers forget you. The valet staff are the best. For the rest, you could die in a corner in the place and probably be swept under one of the smelly carpets. Yes the hallways smelled musty. The coffee across the entire resort was terrible (of course this is personal), but they should just let a Starbucks in, since they can't seem to get it right. To be honest, you come to Alta-Snowbird for the skiing. Do yourself a favor and just stay in Sandy, Ut. You have more dining options and life around there and the slopes are within very easy quick drive.

Great place but bad beds and dated bathrooms
This is a bit older hotel but has been maintained really well. The rooms were clean but the bed was not comfortable at all and bathroom was dated. Hair dryer was good and worked quickly. The dehumidifier didn't seem to help the dryness at all. The hot tubs were nice and not very crowed during pre-ski season. You can ski-in ski-out to Snowbird. Staff were amazing and very helpful and very nice. Not much in the Snowbird area for eating except the main restaurants- the Mexican one is wonderful. I would stay here again if there was a sale.

Great hotel for ski vacation
We had our own locker for skis, boots, helmets, etc. There was a boot warmer inside the locker. It was the quietest room that I stayed in in a long time. All the staff was efficient and quick. We loved the Cliff Lodge..our second visit there. All the restaurants in the area were delicious. We all loved Alta, even though we came to ski Snowbird.

Excellent service
The rate was great because it was an off season weekend, but the staff was very attentive and friendly. The room was beautiful as well as the view. I am not a skier so I most likely would not go during the high season, but it was an excellent value for the weekend we stayed.

A great get away!
Nice spot to be. Views are fabulous especially from the top of the mountain after a 5 min tram ride. Views are breath taking up there! The outdoor patio at the center of Snowbird features a live band and good food options as well as shops. Will visit again.

Cliff Lodge and Spa
Relax, enjoy evening dinner, snow environment, sports and good friends. Fabulous staff made every amenity available to us at no extra charge and upgraded room was only $20.00. Amazing evening away from kids and we remembered why we were in love! A++ for Snowbird Cliff Lodge!

There is so much to do within and directly around the hotel. Take full advantage and don't schedule yourself out. Relax and enjoy the ambiance of Snowbird. It is exactly what this world does not ever do for itself. Slow down and appreciate what is surrounding itself.

"A True Vacation"
We had a wonderful trip! Because everything was at our fingertips, we had actually had time to relax. Instead of spending time getting in a car to drive to a meal or to ski, we enjoyed the amenities at the hotel. Everything was right there! The only disappointments fell on The Cliff Lodge and [...]. We were bummed out that there was a charge to use the gym facilities. That should be included in the price of the hotel! The other let down came when we went to leave and found out there was an additional "resort fee" that [...]. All in all, we loved our trip and we will return! [...]

Snowed In
Cliff Lodge and Spa four night stay
This was my second visit to the Cliff Lodge and most likely my last. I was greeted at the front desk by a clerk that confirmed my stay and the price with the exception of a $80 resort fee (4 days X $20). I told them that this was paid in full [...] Within an hour, heavy snow shut the canyon road and the hotel locked all guests indoors for most of the next day. When I asked what could I do with two young children, the concierge responded that I could watch movies in my room. The arcade had no changers that worked, the hotel did not have any change they would give out, the pools, spas, ice skating all were not available. Service at the restaurants were dreadful due to lack of staff but they still charged full price. When I asked for a comp to the spa ($30 request) I was told no even when I reminded them that they just charged my $80 for a resort fee when no resort was available. When I paid the extra 30 dollars, within 30 min of going out to the roof top spa they kicked everyone out of the spa due to avalanche blasting. They would not put me in touch with the GM when I requested. I do not blame the hotel for the weather, just an uncompromising approach to do something for their guests when they knew that they could not deliver on what was sold to the customers. My four night stay cost over 4K (3K to the resort) yet they could not even comp me my small requests. Their attitude generally reflected an indifferent or unempowered organization. I will go somewhere else next time since that was basically the message given to me by several members of the organization.

Go very early to the Aerie Lounge and Restaurance. Service is slow on their best days and their prices are just outrageous for what is given. $200 for a sushi/roll platter for two and a kids meal is a little ridiculous for all but the truly wealthy.
