Great location in downtown Salt Lake City

Our experience with staying at the hotel we booked on-line was okay. We feel that their front desk staff could use more training on improving their people skills; need to speed up their check-in service and transitioning accomodations for someone who wishes to stay another night.

Convienient to Downtown

This location is right downtown and close to facilities of interest. Unfortunately the complimentary shuttle was not working, but the hotel provided alternate options.

An adequate hotel for its location

The Good: Close to downtown and easy to find. Ample parking. The desk staff are friendly and helpful. Free wireless internet is available, although this appear to be the standard at most hotels. I thought that the cleaning of my room was very good, on par with higher end hotels. The Average: The hotel restaurant/bar is only average. Room service was unavailable, however this may have been due to the holiday weekend. The Bad: There is no bathtub, just a depression in the bathroom tile where water drains to, meaning that water can leak onto other parts of the bathroom.

Family Weekend

I really enjoyed the hotel. The building is beautiful right in downtown and there is no shortage of attractions nearby, especially the Temple Square and Conference Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (mormons). The only problems that we found was that the mattress and pillows were very firm and both my wife and I had hurt backs the next day. The food is good but it is given through the cafe in the lobby and what you get complementary is a small quantity. I was hungry until I ate some more elsewhere.

a bit dated, but clean

Pros: Close to downtown venues and restaurants, free covered, easy access parking, breakfast coupons, helpful staff, clean room, flat screen tv, comfortable beds, indoor pool looked very nice but we did not use. Cons: Hotel is a bit dated and needs some overall aesthetic maintenance (such as peeling paint and missing ceiling tiles); our heat/air conditioning unit did not work, but we did not follow thru, as we only went to use it the morning we left, uncomfortable, hard pillows despite a comfortable bed.

Salt Lake

Very nice hotel, especially good for the price. Free parking so that's a bonus. Just beware on Friday and Sat nights- there is absolutely no parking so we have to park at a meter since everyone was out and abuot going to restaurants/clubs. Great location, close the the highway, nice staff. Wasn't too pricey and def well worth a stay in Salt Lake!

Great Stay

I was nervous about picking a hotel to stay at in Salt Lake City, but I'm glad I picked the Shilo. It had friendly staff, clean rooms, and a good breakfast. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

No Thanks!

NO NO NO!!! Tried to get a refund and check back out as soon as I had checked in! Hotel was not clean, room had half used lotion on counter and the soap had already been opened. The floor was not clean. The chairs (both chairs) in the room had multiple areas that were ripped and cushion coming out, I didn't dare even sit in them. The pool was COLD, HOT tub was only warm and sauna was out of order! Not a great place to stay at all!!!
