Never again

I felt like I was gonna get my room broken into. I was in the hood. I got what I paid for a roach motel.

not a great motel, but it served its purpose

arrived late and found a kind of David Lynch-ian scene in the lobby. There were 5 sketchy looking folks waiting in the lobby (neck tattoos, tapout shirts, dreadlocks - if i were the suspicious type, i'd be thinking about a meth cook underway) while the world's slowest motel nightman - a ghostly pail fellow that reminded me of Angus Scrimm from Phantasm - tried to work the evidently monumentally complex computer system. We had a prepaid reservation and they didn't. the door said no vacancy, but i counted maybe 20 cars in the parking lot. it appeared the nightman was in the process of giving them our room and had to back that out. it took about 20 minutes to get us checked in. Other than that, the room was clean enough, beds were pretty comfortable, and it was a cheap place to sleep near downtown. If that's what your after, this place should suit your needs. The morning desk lady was very nice, and in the daylight, the malevolent ambiance had dissipated. There's an icecream and burger parlour (signature food of SLC i am tood) in the lot. better choice, the Red Iguana across the street.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

The Bay Leaf Bar and Grub on Main and the Blue Plate Diner out on west side of town are both top notch

Good price, great service

This hotel was a good value for the price. It's in walking distance to the Convention Center and other downtown attractions, but I really appreciated the shuttle service to and from the airport and downtown when the weather was bad. Hotel staff were very responsive to my needs.

"Horrible Highway Hideaway"

The hotel charged my debit card for the room AND SO DID ORBITZ. I eventually received a refund from them. The room smelled, the bathroom was dirty and there were many, many homeless people near or around the property. Unsecure door locks.
