Great Family Vacation

We went there for spring skiing. The hotel located right at the Canyon Mountain. Very easy access to lifts and other restaurant. It is very convenience, they have everything you need here you don't have to leave resort. The kids love the indoor/outdoor pool. We love the fact that there are several pools in the resort and an adult pool area. The rate I have for the room included ski valet which is great! They take you skis out to the gondola and when you are done skiing they store your skis and dry your booths. I would definitely recommend this place.

Wanted to invest after my family vacation

The staff, the amenities, the location, and the food exceeded my expectations. My entire family, inclusive of my 9 year old twins, did not want to leave after our four day trip. Seriously thinking of investing in a timeshare at this location. Prefer this ski site over Colorado and will probably make this trip an annual family getaway. The Westgate Resort has a knack for making their guests feel as if they are the only guests staying at the hotel. And my family was at the resort during a time when every room was booked!

Great Snowcation

The room was great, very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. The place was so close to the lifts, pretty much a hop, skip and a jump away. The only thing we probably had to complain about, and it wasn't even a bid deal, was the kitchen table stand. When its set, its kind of hard to get around. Other than that, this hotel made our stay fun and relaxing.

Great family hotel

The Westgate in Canyons is a very friendly and welcomming hotel with a high standard in everything and a lot of service included in the price, that makes your stay a lot easier. Great helpful staff, everything under one roof and situated by the square in the center of the village. However when it was buildt or rather drawn they completely missed the logistic part. To be able to use all the facilities you have to get down in one elevator, walk a couple of hundred meters, go up in the next elevator and then walk in another directon to the other end of the building. In our case, we stayed at 8 floor, the breakfast walk looked like this. Down to 4, walk to the other end, up to 6, walk to the Westgate grill ( great Restaurant). after breakfast walk to elevator, down to 4 to the skiboot lockers, up to 6 floor to the ski valet service wich we allready have passed two times this morning! I admit it's a small problem, but it harms your overall experience.

Great Location Beautiful but

The Westgate is located in a beautiful spot, looks great and I know the staff are trying very hard but they are not well trained. You get conflicting information and it is very confusing when you arrive. They should just check in your skis and boots and not have you go to the location on the other side of the hotel when you arrive. Talking about walking. the resort is not well designed and you might have to walk the a lot to get to your destination, the Grill (good food and great staff) or the Pool. Our room was on the 9th floor we had to go down to the 4th floor walk about 200 yds, go up to the 6h floor and walk another 200 yds to go eat. ALso signage is very confusing, except that we had a great trip. Staff was very helpful but again not consistant.

A wonderful place to ski

This was a weekend ski trip. We really enjoyed the hotel and the Canyons for skiing. I would definitely recommend. The layout of the hotel is a bit confusing, but you get the drift of it in a couple of days. We did not use the ski valet service, but would have if we knew more about it at checkin. We were a little disappointed that the hotel would not extend our check out time by a couple of hours so that we could do a half day of skiing, but we worked it out by changing and showering in the mens locker room at the main pool. Overall a terrific vacation.

difficult to find your way around

the hotel was very nice. but extremely large and difficult to navigate due to the number of added on phases over the years. the ski boot locker room is one one floor, ski storage on another which was annoying. we were on the 8th level, moose phase, and to get to the ski in/ski out access took forever. poorly designed hotel overall. If you're looking for beginner ski trails/lifts DO NOT stay in the canyons, where westgate is located. Instead stay in the park city moutain resort area. they have a lot more green ski trails and lifts. We ended up driving down to park city every day to ski. the accomodations were very nice. the kitchenette was very nice and came with complete set of dishes, pots, pans, glasses, coffee pot, blender, toaster, dishwasher, microwave. But there is not an oven. great accomodations, poorly designed layout and too large to navigate. feels like we spent forever trying to maneuver thru the maze of the hotel...

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

if skiing, check into Q.U.I.C.K. S.T.A.R.T. if youre flying in from out of state, you can get a free lift ticket voucher for that day. just show the lift ticket office your boarding pass for the day you arrive and you can get a complimentary ski lift ticket for that same day!

Good hotel with great location at the base of The Canyons. But TV's and appliances need updating. Also access throughout the hotel (e.g. - room to ski services or to ski valet or to lobby or to garage) was awkward to difficult.
