Solid Hotel for Ski Trip

It's a good quality and clean hotel for a ski trip. Nothing tremendously special about it, but it's in a good location. It was cheaper than the surrounding Canyons area hotels and that is the reason for my booking. It ended up having a little less in the way of amenities, but was worth saving money for.

Nice room. Nice location. Friendly staff.

This hotel is just down the hill from the main village at the Canyons. The rooms are nice, and a very brief shuttle ride or walk gets you to the slopes and the restaurants in the main village.

Just ok

The reason I gave poor reviews was for the fact that our room seemed as if it was falling apart. There was no water pressure, it took me 10 minutes to wash just shampoo out of our hair. The sink drain wouldn't drain. The fridge wasn't keeping anything cold. The room appeared like it was fine, but until you actually started using the room that is when you noticed all these issues.

Great time at Silverado Lodge

We were there primarily to ski at The Canyons. We knew ahead of time that this particular Lodge was NOT ski in/ski out but decided that it was close enough that it was worth saving the extra money ... and we were RIGHT!! Check in was seamless and from the very first moment we walked in, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived in the evening and did not notice a "bell boy", nor did we at any other time during our stay. However, I'm confident that had we requested help with our luggage, someone would have been summoned to help! This was not a big deal to us ... we parked in the underground garage (HUGE bonus) and grabbed a cart and brought our luggage up to the room ourselves (which we prefer anyway). The room was neat, clean and very nicely decorated (405A). Stainless steel appliances, leather couch, flat screen TV, tiled shower (pretty big too), granite countertops ... high end touches. To our delight, there was a stackable washer/dryer right in the bathroom closet ... so no laundry when we got home! Issues with the room: (I mention these for full disclosure, not because they impacted my wonderful overall experience). 1. Very low water pressure in the shower 2. Room stayed quite warm most of the time 3. It was quite windy the first day we were there and the pilot light on the gas fireplace kept blowing out (we did call the first time and maintenance was there within 30 minutes ... after that we started it ourselves) Again, none of these things impacted our stay ... we were there to ski, not sit inside. The staff at the Silverado (and everywhere at the Canyons were extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone said "hello" and made conversation. The Silverado only has one restaurant in the building which was a slight bummer ... however, there is a shuttle that will take you up to The Grand Summit or The Sundial from early in the morning until 11pm. We never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a shuttle in either direction. We used the shuttle during the day while we were skiing and transporting our skis and found it very convenient. When we didn't have our skis, we walked. It took about 5-10 minutes depending on where you were going to walk. There is a small gym, an outdoor pool/hot tub, a sauna and steam room. We used the outdoor pool/hot tub and loved it!! Things were clean, there were always fresh towels, etc. The Silverado seems like a great place for adults. In fact, I don't think I saw any kids there. Since there really isn't a whole lot for kids to do at the Silverado itself (no game room, indoor pool, etc.) ... I could see them getting bored. However, we enjoyed the quiet ;-) I would absolutely recommend The Silverado Lodge to anyone traveling to The Canyons or Park City.
