Average place at premium price

If you want a 5 star experience this is not your place. It's just ok. They try and some of the staff are on board and some just don't get it. The layout of the property is odd, the breakfast buffet is weak, they rage about their maple bacon which is bacon with syrup poured over it, any 5 year old kid knows this trick. Ski Valet people were great and helpful. They offer shuttle to town both ways, waited 40 minutes after they said it would be 12 minutes one night in freezing weather... not cool. It's dated, old really. but thats not the bad part. Cause I've been many places in Europe that are MUCH older but hold onto a certain charm, SEL lost it. If this is premium Deer Valley then go somewhere else.

Luxurious getaway in the mountains

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and absolutely loved the facility and felt pampered. My favorite aspects of this hotel are the beautiful patios adjacent to each room where you can look out over aspen and pine trees with views of the serene mountains. The entire resort is quiet and peaceful--even the swimming pool area wasn't too crowded with kids. We enjoyed swimming and the waterfall hot tub. Food at the hotel restaurants was pricey, but convenient and the service was excellent. Turn-down service was an extra plus--they clean the room for you twice in one day! Even the deluxe (least expensive) rooms are big and beautiful. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

excellent luxury skiing lodge

Great location, impressive luxury facilities and accommodation. Negative was that the ski-in ski-out was not available (ski-lift closed until Dec. 4th.) even so that was my reason to book that hotel. Hotel staff was very efficient, gracious and most helpful and friendly. Highest marks of any hotel I have stayed for many years.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

High end accommodation facility for ski-in and out. The swimming pool is outdoors, so for winter time it is cold to get in and out of the heated pool. It would be recommendable to have an indoor pool (or indoor-outdoor partially covered pool for the winter time

my night at stein

I stayed here 24 years ago for my 30th birthday, it was terrific then and it's better now. Perfect location, fantastic staff, I got a huge room upgrade. I hiked all afternoon and then had dinner in the lounge. All I wanted was a great half bottle of burgundy and cheese plate which they made special for me. The wine lady is a treasure!! Once I am done paying tuition for my kids I will go back!
