Vacation/Bryce Canyon

Aside from the rattlesnake I had to kill to access my room, the stay was okay. The single clothes washer/dryer is not enough to accommodate the entire complex. The sounds from adjacent rooms and from upstairs carry through the wooden floors. Didn't get much sleep but the proximity to Bryce Canyon made it acceptable.

Mixed reactions - His good, hers not so much

Check-in at 9:15 PM was quick and easy, clerk was competent and friendly. No public restrooms visible in lobby area. Rustic. I was mostly happy with the place (except the squeaky bathroom door), but my wife was not. But my expectations were not high - something upscale from tent camping. She would have preferred a B&B or at least a four star hotel. We both agreed the king bed was comfortable. The wrap-around sidewalk decking outside room 817 was not level, tilting into the building. This is not good for someone with orthopedic problems, such as my wife. The TV was a decent-enough CRT type located on the dresser, easily visible from either the bed or the sofa, but I had to lean way forward for the TV remote to be close enough to work. Good overhead fan/ceiling light with controls by the front door. Wall heater/AC worked, but as usual was loud and hard to set just right for comfort. Free wifi worked fine. Shampoo provided, but no rinse. Shower was clean, easy to operate, and had plenty of hot water. Rooms were cleaned and serviced adequately while we were out. We ate the complementary breakfast only once; it might be good for large families or teenagers with large appetites. Second morning, we both enjoyed breakfast at Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant, which is on the way to Bryce Canyon from the hotel. The room was adequate for me but not at all pleasing for my wife. Fortunately, most of the time we were out sight-seeing.

Road trip

The hotel was nice. We checked in late at night ,9:30 and had noticed when booking the room that the restaurant on the premise didn't close until 10:00. we checked in thinking we would get a late supper but the restaurant on site was closed down. If you plan on staying here plan on going into town for dinner.

National Park Tour

This hotel needs a lot of updating. Our first room we were given hadn't been cleaned and yet we were given the room and key for it. We went to inform the man at the registration desk and then we were given another room. Our room was not cleaned during the day while we were out touristing. Our bed was not made, the towels were not replaced which we had thrown in the tub expecting clean, dry towels, and thin blanket made it too cold for me to sleep comfortably at night. At breakfast many food items needed to be replenished with no one around to do this quickly and efficiently. The dining area had several different styles of tables and chairs that made you feel like you were at a rummage sale. This hotel needs a major make over!

would stay again

Had a good experience - very close to Zion entrance and in the small town for convenience - Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Restaurant food was good, could use a little updating - Pool and hot tub were nice, but pool furniture had a lot to be desired. On site laundry was great. Only downside I saw was that they had indoor/outdoor carpet on the outside stairs and walkways- was ripped on stairs, and all was wet, or damp. would stay again
