needs help

Place in in need of remodeling and specially a good cleaning. Pool temperature was the only thing good! Very dirty. Room smelled like pet urine

Just fine

Older hotel, so keep that in mind when booking. If your expectations are right...you won't be too disappointed. It has not been remodeled in some time obviously...although the bathroom did look to have been updated somewhat recently. Location is good...not on the main strip, but only a few blocks away. Breakfast included pancakes, more than I expected.

Cheapest, but....

We stayed on a Friday night in preparation for checking out Arches NP the next day. Of all the hotels in Moab for the weekend, this one was the cheapest (still over $100/night with tax, however). The best thing about it was its location, only 10 minutes from Arches. Otherwise, no big deal. It does have a pool, but we weren't there long enough to enjoy it. During the week, I imagine this place is much cheaper, but if you're looking for more upscale accommodations, I'd look elsewhere. It suited us for the night, but it was easily the most expensive hotel we stayed in on our two week trip to the Four Corners region (mostly, I think, due to weekend rate inflation and lack of any other nearby competition ie. other towns)

Typical budget motel

Nothing fancy. Nice to have the fridge and microwave. I didn't know I couldn't leave my dog in the room alone - the sign said they would charge $100 so that changed my plans for my stay a bit. Ordered pizza from the nearby pizzeria and relaxed instead of going out to eat.

Needs tender loving care

John Wayne might have stayed here, but since then it has become rundown and needs to be remodeled. The rooms are clean but musty smelling.

Friendly, helpful staff make for a nice stay.

Very dated, average accommodations. Got some good advice though on restaurants. An easy place to stay, no surprises or hassles.

Travel through Moab

This motel is old and tired. It has that old smell that hits you when you step in. A very noisy old air conditioner is installed in the wall that is very hard to sleep with all the noise. The towels were a shade of grey rather then the white that they were suppose to be. Apparently it's a heritage site because of John Wayne staying there in his time (he has been dead for 34 years!) The inside should be gutted and the outside can be left the same for the historical view. I would never stay there again.

Apache Motel

Average cheap hotel with decent mattress on the king size bed, did not like that they did not use fitted sheets. Room was clean and smelled good, but small and appeared to have same decor as when John Wayne famously stayed there. One of the lowest priced motels in Moab so you get what you pay for. I would splurge and stay somewhere a little nicer.
