Royal Inn and Suites

Made the mistake of waiting until the last minute to book a motel for this one evening driving from Las Vegas to Monument Valley, UT. This motel should be 1 star at the most. The rooms are super small. The floors felt like they could give way (especially in bathroom). There was an odor in room. Worst of all, the beds were in terrible shape. Uncomfortable isn't an adequate description. The mattresses were lopsided and caving in. To top it off, there was no remote in the room. Finally, after several calls to get a replacement we received one w/tape on the back to hold in the batteries and it didn't function fully. Not a big deal, but indicative of the sleaze. If we were not so desperate for saving money we wouldn't have taken the chance on this. We learned a valuable lesson on this one.

First of all, they changed the name of the motel. It is now the Royal Inn and Suites. No one informed us of the name change. So we spent 45 minutes looking for the Budget Inn that didn't exist. Then, when we got there, we had 2 rooms reserved and they said they had only one. The clerk made us wait 30 minutes while he supposedly checked [...] to confirmed our two rooms. He said for all 4 of us to stay in one room until he called us back. He never did. So two of us had to go find another room at another hotel. The rooms were suppose to be two queen beds and they were only 2 double beds. The clerk, who I believe was the owner, claimed they were booked up, but they never came close to getting full that night. I think the clerk (owner) is dishonest and, and I want to know how I go about getting my money back from [...] Royal Inn and Suites for such a horrible experience. [...]

If this is the only place in town with a vacancy you will need to sleep in your car. I booked a room at this motel because it appeared that all of the other hotels/motels in the area were fully occupied. The room was dingy. The mattress had stains on it. There was no fitted sheet on the mattress. The comforter was old and worn. The TV did not have a cable screwed into the wall so it didn't tune to any channels. The shower walls and floor had mildew on them. THERE WAS DRIED URINE ALL OVER THE TOILET SEAT. When I called the manager and explained to him the issues in the room he sent over an elderly male housekeeper who tried to switch out the TV and didn't understand that it wasn't the TV that was the problem it was the fact that it didn't have a cable plugged into it. The manager then said we could stay in another room due to the URINE all over the toilet. This other room also had URINE ON THE TOILET. At that point I requested my money back and was planning on just sleeping in my car. The manager REFUSED to refund my money and stated he needed an email from the website I booked with before he would refund the money.[...] The manager insisted I just stay in another room instead of receiving a refund. After much discussion and frustration my money was refunded.

good location ,close to ntl parks,moderate accomodation.

Paper thin walls.......I heard the lady next door tell a bedtime story to her child. And I heard everybody go to the bathroom. And......there was plastic covering on one of the beds that crinkled every time you moved and made you sweat! Don't go there unless you're desperate.

Old, dated, small smelly rooms, not what I expected for the 3 1/2 rating given. Quiet is the only good thing. Not enough breakfast items to go around and that with hardly anyone staying there.
