A nice end to a long travel day!

We didn't arrive until 8pm, the front desk clerk was nice, & helpful telling of breakfast and pool times. The room was nice, & clean, bed was comfy.. The room also had a recliner chair which is a plus after a long day on the road. It also located near stores, and restaurants if needed. We'd stay there again.

Unhealthy sleeping conditions; rudeness.

My wife and I were on the second-to-last leg of a 1200 mile road trip and decided to stay at the Days Inn in Cedar City. We had no reservation, and we pulled in late at night (just before 10 pm) after a long day's worth of driving. We asked to see the room before we made our decision to stay, and the guy showed us the room. My wife mentioned something about smelling paint, but I didn't notice anything. So, we signed up for the room, got our keys, and began bringing in our stuff. Once we brought some of our things in, I immediately smelled a very strong odor, the type of odor you smell after freshly painting a room. Wow, was it strong! I couldn't believe I didn't notice it earlier, and can only attribute that to my complete physical exhaustion. Since we pulled in so late, it happened to be time for their shift change. I was not going to have my wife nor myself sleep in such unhealthful conditions, so I went right back up to the window (as the lobby was closed for the night) to speak with the night clerk about getting a different room. This is when the sparks really flew! The guy wanted to blame me for the room's condition! He said, "Sir, you saw the room. You took the room." I explained to him that there was no way we were going to sleep in a room that had been freshly painted, breathing in those noxious fumes all night long. That was not going to happen. I also mentioned that I thought it was terrible to even be offering that room to potential guests due to its condition. At this time, my wife asked the clerk if there were any other rooms available. He refused to give her a straight answer, being extremely rude to her. She kept her cool, and after she asked the same question for the fifth time, he finally nodded and said, "Yes, there are other rooms available." The truth was that he didn't want to rent us another room! I have no idea why he wouldn't want to keep our business/money. But he didn't, and he proceeded to even more rude, calling me "a very odd man" because other people had stayed in that very room the night before. I felt really sorry for those poor people and was glad to get my money back and get out of there. I have never been treated so badly by someone operating a business. And with that, we moved on to a much better place that is known for its high standards and quality.

A Great Stay At the Days Inn

Great Location because it was next to a freeway on/off ramp so good for travel. Convenient for local attractions right at the mouth of Cedar canyon. Quiet, no disturbances, friendly staff, pretty good breakfast with waffles. Only issue was that our TV controller needed batteries. But overall a very nice stay we would go again.

Needs improvement

3 lamps in the room had torn plugs on them. Beds were lumpy with springs and hard as cement. During our stay they decided to patch some holes in the drywall. The guy did not speak english so we were forced to occupy ourselves till he finished (a little over an hour). The bedding had an unpleasant oder to it. Being smokers we expect stale smoke smells. This was not that. The carpet had stains on it (pet related).

The scenery around this town is spectacular. Several parks are just a skip away. Can't wait to go back there and see some more.
