Worst ever
We did not stay at Bryce Canyon, even though we had reservations. We were assigned a cabin and took one look at it and cancelled. First of all the cabin was very small with 2 double beds and a tiny bath area. Worst even was that the room had not been cleaned, towels replaced or beds made after the last victims left. On complaint, we were told that they would clean the cabin but that would have only made it very slightly better. We declined, cancelled and left to find more habitable lodging (which we found). In summary, the place should be condemned by the Board of Health.

The hotel was a bit expensive for what you get, but at the same time it was perfectly located only a few min away from Bryce Canyon Park entrance and we went there during the solar eclipse time, so I think maybe that's another reason why the hotel was pricey... overall great location, but nothing else special to justify the price we paid for it. It's ok to stay for a few nights, if you're planning to spend your days hiking or doing other things outside of the hotel.

Okay, so there are a couple of places closer to Bryce, but only by a few minutes and not this inexpensive. The value is in the location. I did not spend much time in the room. I booked this through an outside agency and the room I booked was not available. The clerk let me look at two different rooms and quickly fixed the problem. I should have called ahead to verify--like I usually do if I don't book direct. The room with two queen beds was older and a bit beat up, but clean and comfortable. A microwave, fridge and coffee maker (coffee available in lobby at 6:30am) would have made the trip more enjoyable. There's a wide variety of room quality. Call direct and ask about the cabins (how big, do the windows open, are they newer or older) versus the motel rooms. The one queen bed cabin I looked at was very small with a space heater for heat. I chose a different room.

Best Bang for the Buck
We stayed in one of the Suites. The suites are cabins with 2 suites per cabin. It is kind of older inside, but was very clean (no dirt, dust, webs in any crack or corner). It does have a fridge, stove, microwave, and flat-screen TV. The restaurant was OK, but I personally preferred Foster's down the road. Overall it was a great time and perfect location for visiting the Parks that surround it. I would definitely stay here again. My ratings are based on expectations. It is a remote area of Utah with not many options. This place exceeded my expectations.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
If you want to save some $$$, eat in... since a suite does have a stove, microwave, and fridge.

A cold night without hot drink water
We arrived at 6:30 pm in a frozen winter night. The staff was left with the key at the door. The room was ok, but no coffee/tea & hot drink water.

Definitely not luxury
This hotel is a fine place to stay if you're looking for a base of operations for day trips into Bryce, Red Canyon, Kodachrome, and Grand Staircase-Escalante. However, it is definitely a bare bones operation. The beds were hard, the towels and sheets were clean but well-worn, the bathroom badly in need of an upgrade. The pool was located in a shed-type contraption, and was small and shallow. I'd suggest other hotels in the area if you're looking for comfort, but if you're not going to be in your room much anyway, this place is as good as any.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
For a nice dinner and delicious pie, travel about five miles west of Bryce Canyon Resort to the Bryce Canyon Pines hotel and restaurant on Highway 12. Less crowded, much more comfortable and better food than the in-house hotel or Ruby's Inn.
