Victoria Inn

Worse room I've stayed in in years. If it hadn't been so late, we would have gone elsewhere. No remote for TV, was told they were remodeling and got all new furniture and remotes were on order, but the volume button was also missing. Dob of blood (it looked like on a washcloth). Walls and Bathroom floor was dirty. The new roll of Toilet Paper behind the roll being used looked like someone had an accident and got ? on the wrapper........yuk! I understand remodeling, but this room shouldn't have been rented. Didn't even have a coffee pot in it!

Meh

This was a cheap hotel, so I got what I paid for. I was there for the Waco Wild West Century bike ride. It was less than a mile from the starting line, so I was able to ride to the starting line. The hotel wasn't really clean, but it wasn't filthy. It had a faint odor. The phone was in the drawer. I couldn't find the remote. It was close to downtown and cheap. I would stay there again if I needed a place to sleep on the cheap.

Nothing more, nothing less than expected

I would probably give this a 2.5 stars, 2 seems too low, but three is way too high. It wouldn't have been worth it if the price was any higher. Room was pretty clean, smoke free, etc. I was booked a handicap room for some reason, but the only difference from a normal room was that there wasn't a door on the bathroom (just a curtain) and there was a bar in the tub. Otherwise I was finding it hard to believe that a wheelchair, or even more so, a scooter, could fit around the beds. The bottom of the tub was dingy- I think just stains from years of use, but still not a very pleasant site. Toilets were nice and "newer"- other items in bathroom, like soap dispenser, were 70's, or maybe even 60's time frame, but at least they were there. Also had a fridge/freezer, and microwave- very nice to have. Beds appeared clean, but I am not confident in my bedbug sighting skills, so the kids and I slept on top of the bedding and used the comforter as a blanket. A/C was bit too cold, even on lowest setting, but I'd rather be a little cold than too hot. Beds were very bouncy/squeaky, though. My back and neck still hurt two days later. Service was pretty good- door key/lock gizmo broke and wouldn't read cards, and they had it taken out and replaced in a matter of minutes. Free breakfast was pretty bare bones and bland, but at least there was something and breakfast area was very clean. I couldn't understand the couple who was running the place very well- their English was very hard to understand- but that seems to be the norm at a lot of places these days and it could just be my bad listening skills :) Bottom line- I would recommend if you're looking for a cheap one-nighter. Wouldn't stay more than one night, or if I was looking for a "get-a-way" experience.

Not a Good Experience

The hotel was convenient as far as location. The bathroom was not clean and needs to be updated. Online I did not check 2 people, but on the check in card I did. I stated to the man running the counter that I missed changing the number of people and I will pay the difference.....It was 3.00!!...A 3-4 minute discussion about not changing the number of people online cost me 3.00....For a 3.00 charge, the issue should have not been that big of a deal! I will not return to the hotel....You get what you pay for....

Unbeatable location for the price

The Victorian Inn in Waco, Texas was very nice. The room was spacious and reasonably priced. The room included a microwave, refrigerator, and freezer which was a very nice touch. Above all the room was clean and comfortable.

WHAT A WASTE!!

Was there something missing that would have made your stay more enjoyable? Yes, a pool on the premises would have been more enjoyable, spend the money for a pool. Cleaner Rooms - there was mold/mildew in the corners of the shower/bathtub and the bottom of the bathtub was stained dirty. A clean shower/bathtub w/o mold/mildew is essential for safe personal-hygiene. The bathroom door-knob is loose, almost falling off. The bathroom timer control had a knob missing. The bathroom has patches of wall covering missing on the toilet paper wall side. There is a water stain and mold/mildew in the corner of the bathtub where it meets with the floor. The toilet is very slow flushing. The sink drains extremely slow. The table chairs in the room are dirty,...need upholstery cleaned. The cabinet under the sink had a dead cockroach, ...need better pest control & cleanliness. The carpet is dirty, ...did not walk on it bare-foot. The front door is loose & not secure,...needs repair. The wallpaper in the dining room is peeling. The chair I sat on in the dining room almost broke, and I nearly ended down on the floor due to its disrepair. How did this compare to previous trips you have taken? This is THE MOST disappointing, frustrating, stressful, unsatisfactory motel visit I have ever had. To say that the customer service at this inn falls short of what 'CUSTOMER SERVICE' should be, is an understatement. I registered thru a travel agency for two nites, but only stayed one nite due to unforeseen personal reasons. The motel refused to credit/refund the unused nite, regardless of checking out with enough notice the next day, and in spite of negotiations with the travel agency. To that end, the motel had changed their story and excuses to keep the funds for the unused nite. Finally, they kept my money, and most probably rented the room and got paid twice for the same room, same nite. There is no reason to keep funds without providing a service or not pay for services provided. I would not recommend this motel to NO ONE, and would strongly advise to stay away from this inn.

More than I expected!

The outside of the hotel looks very nice the office too! Its Victorian style the room itself is also victorian style it is like being in an old victorian house, keep in mind that the rooms are older and they do look it inside. I think its an older hotel but the outside doesn't look old. The staff is very helpful and goes out of its way to help you I needed something they didn't carry and they found it for me anyway. The only negative aspects I found were that the bathtub itself was kind of dirty and the office smelled like mothballs. Considering the price though I won't complain hopefully they'll read my reveiw and the next person that goes there can give them a 5 star rating. The room also had a fridge and microwave! What I enjoyed most were the free breakfast(offering, juice cereal, fresh fruit, muffins etc), the LARGE rooms, the way the staff went out of their way to help me, and the look of the hotel itself! It was amazing.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There's a restaurant just a couple of blocks away We went at night its off a body of water it almost looks like its riverfront, they serve cajun food the inside has a great theme and cool looking drinks I recommend you go there. Sorry I don't remember the name, but its a local favorite and they actually serve crocodile, maybe ask the office about it.

Trip to Waco, TX

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The lay out for the room was well planned out and functional. One of the short falls of the room was the location of the TV. It was located to the far left of the room in a corner, instead of centered with the bed. I did not have any problems with the location of the TV because I was by myself on this trip. But, if my wife had been with me and she was on the other side of the bed or at the table on that side of the room she would not have been able to see all of he TV screen. Even though the TV was on a Swivel stand rotating the TV would not helped.
