My husband and I spent Christmas night at this hotel while traveling to visit family. The room was comfortable and spacious. However it smelt like tobacco. The check in and check out experience was painless and the staff was friendly. We would
stay again- but we would request Febreeze. The breakfast was nice! But the coffee was beyond too strong.
A friend and I stayed at this hotel in order to attend the Texas Renaissance Festival. We loved the hotel, it was a great location - only about a 10 to 15 minute drive from the festival, and conviently located near many places to eat and several
grocery stores. We liked the fact that the hotel had a fridge and a microwave in the room. The only one downside that we found to the hotel is that there was not a guest laundry room.
I have always valued the quality of care and customer service at Super 8 hotels/motels, so I was anticipating the same as I checked in at the Tomball Super 8. As I checked in, the Front Desk member informed me that my room may not be available yet
even though it was during their posted check in time. I understand that this may occur; however, this may be one of the statements to leave out of a conversation with the guest. Since I always book my reservations ahead of time, it generally takes a few minutes to check in. At this motel, it took at least 10-15 minutes to check in because the Front Desk staff member had to call the housekeeper to confirm if the room was ready, and because the housekeeper didn't answer the phone, she went outside to find her. This portrays poor customer service, that they are (as a team) unprepared for the guest's arrival, and that they are unsure of how to resolve the issue/concern. She finally gave me a different room since the original room was not ready yet. After I got to my room, I discovered a lose piece of carpet near the bathroom door. I understand that they are remodeling some of the rooms; however, if I had children with me, this would have been a cause for concern due to a potential safety hazard. I went back to the Front Desk staff member to inquire, and she replied that it is due to remodeling. She did not offer to change rooms or anything.Later, after I unpacked all of my luggage and was ready to take a nap before I had to get ready for my friends' wedding, I pulled back the comforter and discovered a dirty towel under my bed. I called the Front Desk, and they came to remove the dirty towel. She did offer a room exchange at that time; however, I was already in a time crunch for my evening plans, so I turned down the offer. [...] Prior to preparing for my evening out, I discovered brown matter on the sheets and went to the Front Desk regarding this. I inquired about changing rooms knowing that I didn't have time for this, and the Front Desk staff offered to change the sheets instead. I decided that this would be the best way to resolve this issue since I had a time constraint. As I returned to the room (after the Wedding), I was amazed that they not only changed the sheets, but they also replaced the used towels so I would have fresh towels in the morning. Even though they couldn't offer me an alternative that I preferred, they provided clean towels. This definitely made my stay more enjoyable! I spoke with the Front Desk staff at check out, and was very thankful for the extra gesture to make my stay better. She mentioned that they will take care of me better the next time I stay there.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Chick-fil-A has great food and EXCELLENT customer service! It was raining when I arrived for lunch, and they provided an umbrella escort from my car to the restaurant, and then back to my car after I finished dining there - I didn't even need to request this!
