Free continental breakfast and outdoor pool at budget beach hotel
Get ready for some serious pickle ball -- the South Padre Island Travelodge has a pickle ball court, along with an outdoor area with picnic tables and grills and a heated pool and hot tub. Not that guests are lacking things to do nearby the South Padre Island Travelodge -- there is the private beach access that guests love, and plenty of diving, fishing, dolphin watching, horseback riding, golfing, windsurfing and more in the area.Amenities

Not too shabby
The hotel was ok for the price. There floor felt very 'sandy' when we walked in...I guess I was expecting it to be clean. Breakfast was very limited, then again the price says it all.

Travelodge South Padre Island
Pretty room, hard beds. Toilet didn't flush after 10:00 pm, had to wait 45 minutes for maintenance to fix.

Pictures are decieving!
We will not stay at the Travelodge again. We feel we paid to much for what we got. The breakfast consisted of Waffles/muffins/cereal and that's it. The rooms on all the pictures look nothing like what they really are. It's more of a motel. We were very disappointed.

Padre was by far more entertaining at night. We went on a dinner cruise, which i highly recommend!!

Better than expected
A friend and I went to South Padre Island to go surfing and fishing. We didn't need anything super nice or fancy, just a place to sleep and shower. The Travelodge ended up being one of the cheaper options, so we chose it. It ended up being perfect for us. Tile floors, and a fridge, microwave, and coffee pot were included (we didn't know that beforehand). The hotel is at the north end of the South Padre strip, which is nice because there isn't much traffic passing by. The hotel is not on the beach, but there is a private walkway to the beach which is great. Since the hotel is near the far end of the strip it isn't crowded on the beach up there. The staff was friendly enough. The breakfast could have been a little better, it isn't very much. Also, the air conditioners at the hotel make a lot of noise, to the point I wore ear plugs.

Good Location, good price, clean room
Hotel was at a good location, not right on beach, but just a short walk to the beach. The staff was friendly, and the waffles were great for breakfast. The room was spacious, and clean. The A/C worked very well, the nights were almost too cold. Free WIFI worked great, enabled me to keep in touch with people back home as well as share vacation pictures. Would def. visit again!

Was located within walking distance of the Seaturtle rescue center, which was one of our favorite places to visit. We went at least three times in a week.

not exactly great
when we got there we couldnt get in the door, had to call maintenance. After 1/2 hour waiting, maintenance had to work on door. Roaches were noted around hotel room. at another time we were unable to get into room, called maintenance, maintenance was able to open the door and looked at us as if we were too stupid to open door. left at 6:30 a.m. sunday, breakfast not ready, toasters didn't work...had to wait for staff to take stuff out at 6:40....staff member not friendly enough to let us know toasters werent working or plug for toaster not working...needless to say, not staying there again!!!

No complaints, but nothing special.
Friendly staff at check-in, but facility needs more parking spaces. It looked liked many rooms were housing more guests than they should have been, two cars full of people jammed into one room to save money on room charges, apparently. This could be alleviated if the hotel gave out parking permits, one per room.

Don't let the name scare you; "Dirty Al's" restaurant, next to the entrance of Isla Blanca Park, has HUGE shrimp and friendly, FAST service.

Island Room
Traveled to beach along narrow,long,(2blk) wooden enclosed walkway. Noisy construction going on near pool. Ice machines broken. Poor seating for breakfast. Staff helpful. Rooms clean. Water pressure good. Quiet at night. Overall recommend.
