Customer service

We booked two days so we could take our boys to Kemah Boardwalk. The first day was good, but the next morning I woke up with a HORRIBLE bug bite on my back. I notified the front desk and asked for them to change ALL bedding. A few hours later the bite became super painful and looked awful. We decided we better travel the 6 hours back home so I could get to my doctor. I went to check out a day early and the front desk asked why. I explained the situation and she apologized. She said we would get their 100% happiness guarantee, meaning all our money back or at least the night we had to miss. She said someone would contact me shortly. Well no one ever contacted me or returned my phone calls. I am extremely disappointed in this hotel. What should have been a great family experience for my toddlers was cut short. I didn't expect my money back but at least a voucher for a future visit would have been nice for the night we HAD to leave.

One of the nicest hotels we've stayed at

This trip was for our 24th wedding anniversary so we wanted to stay somewhere nice but still in our price range. When we arrived at the hotel...which was very easy to find and access from the highway...we had no trouble checking in. The desk attendant was very pleasant and helpful with directions. She even gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at a local restaurant after asking us our plans for dining that evening. Our room turned out to be much better than described when I made the reservation. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable...the bedding was clean and fresh. I've never slept so well on a hotel bed!! Everything seemed new and the decor was up to date and stylish. The only thing that I thought was lacking was in the bathroom lighting...they had recessed ceiling lighting but no light over the mirror...it made it very difficult to see to put on my makeup because of the shadows...and my poor eye sight! We ate out several times and were able to bring back leftovers since there was a fridge in our room. That saved us a trip out one evening when we didn't feel like leaving to eat out again...we just warmed up our leftovers in the microwave and dined in. The hotel was convenient to both the Kemah boardwalk area and NASA. The parking was adequate and seemed well lit at night. The complimentary breakfast each morning was more than what I expected. I've gone to other places that offered free breakfast and all it was was cereal or nasty tasting pastries. Not here...they offered a full meal...eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, muffins, juices, coffee, etc. The menu changed a little on Sunday...they added biscuits and sausage gravy to the offerings. It was very delicious! By the end of our weekend we hated that we had to leave since we enjoyed our stay so much!

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

If you are going shopping in the Kemah boardwalk area...the shops don't open up until 11 am on Saturday! We got there 2 hours too early thinking we could watch the boats for a little while and then go shopping around 10 am when we thought they would open...well we did a lot of walking and looking around first. At least they have plenty of places to sit down and watch the boats go by!

Great Place to Stay Near NASA

Very nice hotel in a good location close to Kemah Boardwalk and NASA. The fitness center is small but other than that no complaints - great breakfast included!

So clean and helpful!

Was only 3 minutes from the Boardwalk and only 25 minutes from West Beach in Galveston. I had read the reviews and learned that Don Julio's was worth eating at...and it was! It was super reasonable @$8-12/plate. I couldn't believe the wonderfully clean room and great pool. The breakfast was good too!

Excellent service

Clean and spotless. Service was excellent. We asked to accomodate us with an early ck-in due to children and they did so immediately, something that made up our whole day and trip.
