Perfect location

Hotel is beautiful and in great location. Only thing is that I paid extra for Riverwalk view...turns out that you can see it from balcony if you look straight down..otherwise my view was the roof top air conditioning unit across the way Staff was great!

Mighty Fine

Great hotel--located right on the Riverwalk and on the yellow and purple streetcar routes. Close to many sites: Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral, Spanish Gov's Palace (it's a house with lovely gardens), Market Square, and so on. Excellent staff. Price for three days of internet, including taxes, was approximately $38. Room was very nice. When you check in, do not accept the key for the minibar, and then you will not be tempted to use it. There are several small markets within a three-block radius of the hotel that you can visit for snacks, beverages, etc.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Visit the San Juan mission because it is a National Park Service site. It is the only one of five missions in San Antonio that has rangers available to answer questions. Do not go to the other missions unless you have a car. If you are thinking about going to the Univ. of Texas Institute of Texan Cultures, be ready to pay $8 and read a lot of signs. Eat at Mi Tierra in MarketSquare--take a number when you go into the bakery area and order pecan pralines. The best. :)

Awesome in Alamo town.

The Westin Riverwalk was easily one of the nicest hotel experiences I have had. I spent 3 nights. The service, from front desk staff to concierge to maid service, was great. After getting several recommendations from the concierge, I was able to see all that I wanted to see and enjoy some of the best food in the city, including breakfast each morning in the on site restaurant. Extremely nice rooms, very clean and comfy, just as I have heard about the Westin chain. The only possible drawback might be that, if you are a family that spends hours in the pool, it's not a very big pool, although it is nice, as well. I will be staying there again if and when I go back to San Antonio.
