dirty dingy hotel-should not have Fairmont in it's name

This was one of the dingy-est hotels I have stayed in. There was dust on the curtains and window panes as if it had never been cleaned (at least in the last decade). The staff was nice and if it were maintained, it could be very charming...sadly not the case.

Fairmont San Antonio

The hotel was great. Excellent central location, only seconds from the riverwalk, and excellent value for money. One thing that prevented it from being perfect: they charge $35/ night for a baby crib. For the price of two nights I could have bought a new crib.

Hot room

Staff was friendly, hotel was beautiful however my room did not look like the online pictures. Bed was very comfortable, room temperature was extremely warm even though I cranked down the cool air. It was uncomfortably warm. When mentioning this at checkout the lady said, "oh, due to the hotel being old we need to go up there and adjust it for you." Wish this would had been mentioned at check-in. It was a business trip and there was no hotel bar.

perfect place

If you like to feel like you've stepped back in time, stay here. The hotel itself was very clean. It was decorated cute and was very cozy. Some staff were very nice but one lady was awkward. Besides that, it was a great stay and great value. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Labor Day getawa!

This was our first stay at the Fairmount hotel. I loved the decor. This was a last minute trip to San Antonio with our girls and we had a blast, The staff was very friendly, the valet was reasonable, the hotel was a block a way from the Riverwalk and mall. We did not get a room with a balcony (next time!) but we enjoyed our quiet, relaxing, fun family trip!

Cute Experience

Many reviews have stated that cleanliness and employee kindness were problematic, however I thought this hotel was lovely and cozy. I appreciated staying in a unique place with character and charm. Our room was definitely clean and the staff was courteous. I would have liked a better in-room coffee bar. And don't expect to find a lot to do in the hotel. But if you're like me, you'll be exploring the city anyway, so the hotel is just a nice place to sleep.

Quaint

I love historical buildings so this was right up my alley. You have to bear in mind that this hotel is over 100 years old, and it has some quirks. The door to my room was tricky to lock and unlock, for example, and the water never really got hot. Other than that, it was great. It was just like going back in time. I hope to visit again!
