SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Antonio Northwest/Medical Center

We had stayed at Spring Hill Suites in other states, so we knew what to expect as far as general amenities. This stay was pure vacation from the cold of our northern home. Pros: 1) Staff was very courteous and friendly, including housekeeping and maintenance. 2) We arrived for breakfast around 0915 each morning because it was a vacation. We expected some foods may be in short supply since breakfast was over at 0930. We were surprised to see the staff adding more fresh eggs and sausage each morning and there was plenty of fresh waffle batter. There was plenty of food. 3) Room configuration was roomy and very comfortable. 4) We would stay here again. Cons: 1) Do not 100% trust your GPS. The address of the hotel includes I-10W. Our GPS kept wanting us to turn left off I-10W while driving north. Advise a quick look at Google Maps or MapQuest in satellite mode. 2) Even though the room seemed well insulated from outside noise, we could occasionally hear semi-trucks downshifting in early morning as they moved south down the I-10W hill. If you are a light sleeper, then advise getting a room on the hotel's east side or leave air on high as background noise, or ear-plugs.

The first impression when walking into the room was very good. I put up on Facebook that it was an amazing room.

This hotel was nice except the bathroom shower curtain was filthy and the couch pillowed were dirty

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The room is great. And honestly, I think it deserves more than 3 stars. HOWEVER, I booked a room with 2 queen beds, and when I got there for checking-in, I was told I will be given a room with 1 king bed, and the room has a sofa bed. I told them that this is not what I booked. They said we are sorry but this is what we received. Apparently, there has been some miscommunication between this website and the hotel. Because at that time the didn't have any rooms with 2 queen beds, I had to agree to take the king room. At night, I couldn't sleep in the sofa bed. It was HORRIBLE. It was TORTURE. It was the worst sofa bed I have ever slept on. It was not flat, and the mattress was paper thin. The next morning I talked to them and I was really mad. The apologized and sent an extra think and comfortable mattress, which worked good. And they also agreed to take one night off the charge, which was a really good gesture!

Planned a weekend trip to San Antonio and my cousin and I reserved same hotel with a minute difference. Once we arrived I got my room and he did not. The excuse given by the manager was they were overbook!!! Talking to the staff they had rooms available but the manager was stuborn to give those rooms to their award program reservations even that none of them were there yet. My cousin and his two little kids had to go to another hotel across town.

The location si quite difficult to get, you need a new GPS systems (disk) to have the correct coordinates of the hotel. Entrance is quite difficult to get unless you stay in I-10, no back roads can be used. The hotel is clean, the style is semi-european. Separation of WC and shower. The beds are clean and very cosy. You can sleep for sure. Breakfast as expected is limited but for the price you pay is acceptable. Staff is superb and as always, if you speak spanish, you are more than welcome.

I like the location, and I don't need more for a shopping weekend... Great staff!

We were very happy to stay at this hotel. Conveniently located, rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included on the price. We had enough room for our three children- 2 queens and a nice sofa bed. We loved it!!!

Overall good what I expected. Would of liked for the pool to be bigger
