great location but small room
I didn't expect to get such a small room for a 4 stat hotel! It wasn't comfortable at all for 3 of us. We had full beds and it was barely enough room to walk. Also everything in the room was very old but clean.

Great Stay
I had been to the River Walk some time ago on a business trip and always wanted to take my wife back there. This was a perfect opportunity to do that. We had a ball. We caught the Alamo on it's anniversary and really enjoyed that as well. The River Walk is a perfect getaway and the hotel's site on the Walk is excellent.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
You have to take one of the tour boats that are docked next to the hotel. The tour runs about an hour and you learn all about the area. Plus it's quite inexpensive.

Best New Years 2012
Check in was easy and pleasant. Up to the room we went and what a room and pretty view it was. I loved our experiance here. Breckfest came with the package we thought it would be a contenintal but it was a full breckfast and it was the best. Our waitress Mrs.C she was just the bomb..funny,sweet and a joy to talk to. Our lady that cleaned our room was very nice and told us where to go to eat the best food. When we need a taxi the guys at the front were on it. We will go again for sure. This hotel was wonderful.

Prices
We were booked with a group who received special group rates from Marriott. In this case it was $143 per night plus taxes. Bundled with air fare with orbitz, we figured our room rate was $12.00 , period. Hotel" unable" to offer this rate to the group

Marriott Riverwalk
Lobby was spacious with several ares to meet with colleagues. Location was terrific and though they have a tiny gift shop for necessities, there is a convenience store less than 1 block away. Bar/lounge was large and relaxing with outdoor seating. I shall return!

Great location
Pro's: Loved being right on the riverwalk! It was right across the street from the riverwalk mall, which had some less expensive places to eat. When we got to the hotel they had reserved a room with king sized bed, which was a problem, since we had our two children with us! They gave us a room with a balcony overlooking the riverwalk (which actually cost more) at no additional charge. Cons: Valet parking at hotel was available for an outrageous amount. There is a parking garage right on the corner for a whole lot less! When you book, be careful about the continental breakfast. You have to pay extra.
