Perfect Honeymoon

The staff was very helpful & nice. The bed was comfortable. My wife & I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. If you can find a better location for a hotel; I wouldn't believe you. Connects to the mall, Riverwalk, near The Alamo, & all San Antonio has to offer.

Great Location

The location was great! The only complaint I have is that the beds were VERY FIRM, not like the last time I stayed there, it felt like you were sleeping on a cloud.

Mariott hotel stays

I've recently started doing a lot of traveling and have been staying at Marriott hotels. I've become an Elite customer and applied for the Marriott rewards credit card to enjoy the benefits. The service, the quality of the room and friendliness of the staff have been very consistent.

Its ok

Great location, everything is in walking distance!!!! Pool is very small, only holds about 40 ppl, not very good for a hotel that has 38 floors, the pool was also dirty & old looking. The vending machines were out of water. The room w/ double beds are small & the beds were small also. We stayed on the 38th floor, very hot, even w/ the thermostat @ 60 it never cooled down. Check out time 12pm, not good when everyone is trying to leave @ the same time, took us 20 minutes to get out of garage. $25 fee fpr parking

Family Vacation not bad all in all

Its been years since Ive stayed here, few things that are stuck in my mind about the trip.. So lets go with the good first... Staff was all very nice and attentive, needed more towels and they were on the ball right away, valet drivers all nice and good with my vehicle, bell hops were nice also, hotel was clean as it always has been. Onto the weird and things that I didnt expect So looked for the mini fridge, well our room didnt have one, I was a bit stunned, has the place for it and no fridge, had the safe in the closet taking up a bit more room than it should have, sorry but a bathroom with no vent fan in there kind of is a bit irritating esp with kids, Ice machine on our floor was out of order, had to go to floor up or down, took about 4 trips to fill the sink up with ice since we didnt have a mini fridge to ice down waters due to needing cold water for medications etc.. and the bed was on a traditional style bed frame open underneath, it squeaked and creaked when sitting upon it, This used to be the best hotel in the area in my opinion but has slacked off a bit on quality of rooms and amenities, but the rest is still in very good shape, Location is right next to some night club so the other enterance has some very interestingly dressed individuals going by it at all hours of the night and cabs and valet parking with loud stereos pulling up quite a bit. My all in all stay was not bad, but I couldnt do any more than 2 nights here anymore, it isnt the same hotel that it used to be, I dont discourage anyone to stay here, just want everyone to know what your getting for 150 up to 200 a night.. The staff and location made up for the small things cause you cant get closer to the river and this is still a nice hotel.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Take the walk to the main channel of the riverwalk by the hyatt etc thats where the good resturants are. AVOID COUNTY LINE BBQ at all costs if possible, worst service ever, worst food ever, I was astounded waiting 10 min for a waitress to acknowledge us, then another 10 min to get our drinks, and 30 min for our food after that, it was not even half full inside and no one outside.
