Rodeway Inn At Lackland AFB

This was a good value motel for us, close to the base and light shopping. The desk staff was super helpful with maps and directions. Even tho' there was no kiddie pool, our little guy had a good time playing in the water. We were very pleased with this choice.

The Roadway Inn at Lackland Air Force Base seemed like the logical place to stay because we were in San Antonio to attend our daughter's graduation from Air Force Basic Training at Lackland AFB. However, the hotel was nothing like we expected. The accomodations at the Roadway Inn at Lackland Air Force Base were old and ill maintained. Our room was a ground floor and had a bathroom with a window without privacy glass or curtains. A previous occupant/someone covered the window with wet tissue paper (that had dried) to prevent viewing from the outside. The shower/bathtub drain was clogged and cause the tub to fill with water, hair and sledge from the backed-up plumbing. The room smelled as if it had been smoked in every day for the last 30 years and the ventalation ducts appeared that they hadn't been cleaned in as many years. The linen had holes from being burned by cigarettes. We arrived at midnight after a 22 hour trip from Europe and we stayed one night because we were so tired. At 7:00am we went to the front desk, explained our dissatisfaction with the room to the clerk, and checked out. The clerk was very apologetic and offered us a different room, but the damage was already done and I didn't think that any of the rooms would be acceptable because the one we had was "just that bad."

I can't say enough good things about our stay... Our family stayed for my son's Air Force BMT graduation... I am glad we didn't stay anywhere else... It is close to everything... The staff is fantastic... The amenities for the price, a bargain... We had a spacious room, frig, microwave, internet, great coupons, graduation information and more... This is an A++++++ motel...

The location of this hotel would have been perfect for getting to Lackland AIr Force Base if there hadn't been massive road construction going on that added miles per day to the journey. The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were thin. When I requested additional pillows, I was told that there were already 4 in my room (in fact, there were 3) and since I was the only occupant there was no need. So much for good customer service!! I even had to request additional toilet paper. There was no hot continental breakfast and the coffee cups were so small that you had to fill them 3 times to get a regular cup of coffee. This was not a good way to spend my money. If I ever go back to San Antonio again, I will look for other accomodations.

the hotel is conveniently located across from Lackland AFB and is with in walking distance to plenty of dining. i was dissapointed that the pool was not available, however the htole is under newer management and improvements are in the works. was worth it to me...oh, having the internet available was very helpful.
