Service at it's worst!
Booked thru Orbitz, when arrived i over heard couple saying their new room had unmade beds and bathroom was dirty. I proceeded to my room on 5th floor unaware this was the smoking floor. There was no AC in the hallways or lobby! Our room smelled like a pool hall, had a riped off smole detector, stains on desk chair and dirty toilet seat. I went down to ask for another room she said no way bc u booked thru orbitz and she couldn,t and cant give refund! i had to stick it out for the night before orbitz cancelled my 2end night. Went to Holiday Inn Express For 30 bucks more OMG what a differnce, great service super tiddy rooms and lobby, great location!

"The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
I've been to this area a few times and since I was without my family this time I decided to go cheap. This hotel is close to the Alamo and downtown, you are close enough to not pay high prices, yet just far enough away for a 3-4 block walk. The rooms were neat and plain, small bathroom, but you do get an in room safe. It did have a once over clean feel to it and there were toenail clippings on the floor, hair in the sink and spots in front of the toilet. I was bitten by some type of spider on my forehead. I gave it a shot, but next time I believe I'll stay somewhere else, some deals just aren't a deal after all.

not great
The hotel provided the bare minimum in the rooms, there was no counter space anywhere making it difficult to get ready. Whenever we needed something like more pillows or a hair dryer instead of bringing it up to us we had to go down and get it. We had a lot of problems with trying to use the internet, they kept running out of password cards and then telling us they would get some eventually, then when they did recieve them we had to go down to get them. The "breakfast" was the biggest disapointment, it consisted of either a bagel or a muffin. No cereal, no milk. We ended up going to a store and buying things for breakfast. The only upside to this hotel was that the mall, riverwalk and Alamo were only about 3 blocks away.

On the Riverwalk there is a fabulous mexican restaurant called Casa Rio. We were only in town for 5 nights but we ate at Casa Rio twice. The food was amazing and not too pricey.

Don't Stay Here
The location wasn't that good, seem alot of people just hanging out. Check-in wasn't good. Clerk tried to make my family wait four hours to check in and I had a small baby with me. only when I said I wanted to cancel my reservation did they allow me to check in. Put me on the third floor where all you could smell was smoke. Had to be moved and the A.C leaked and all of our things that was on the floor was soaked.I could go on but I don't have enough time. Bad place so disappointed.

Not that great experience
Did not have a very pleasing experience (stay wise) but the location and price seemed ok to me. I was able to walk to Alamo and other attractions in about 5-10 mins.

Filthy Rooms
[...] We were given a filthy room with the unmistakable smell of stale urine emenating from the air conditioner. Dirty cartpets, mold in the bathroom, feces stains on the wall. We were given a song and dance about upgrading to a better room[...] Have been in contact with management and they are supposedly comping us for another room sometimes in the future. Will definitely preview the room before signing on the dotted line. Not pleased in the least. In addition we were charged $5 a night for parking...[...]

Short walk from hotel
Don't stay two nights like we did to go to the Riverwalk and Alamo...can easily be done in one day. Also don't pick this hotel in San Antonio. Once we checked in and went for a walk there were better places within a block of it...that really ticked us off. The walk also required crossing dangerous traffic lanes, as well as passing throught some pretty seedy areas of San Antonio...didn't feel safe. Looked into transferring the second might it another Red Roof for the next night, but they've put in place a $70 cancellation fee which is more than the room rented for. Not a very user friendly chain.

bed and room was made till 6pm
I went on a family vacation to sea world and the river walk. My stay at the red roof inn was a horrible mistake I made. I went off on vacation to enjoy enjoy days off but it didn't happened. Room service didn't make my bed one day till 6pm It was an inconvinience as I had gone out early and wanted to come to the hotel and rest but once there I had to get out so room service could clean and change bed. Two days in a row.

Don't stay here!
Only one thing good, 3 blocks to Riverwalk and Alamo. But hotel is very dirty, carpet was horrible, AC leaked so everything got wet, found a live bug in my bed! not a roach but still.Bathrooms not clean, faucet leaked, cheap towels, ck-in was a nightmare only one girl-I was third in line, took twenty minutes then after me line was out the door. A no big deal breakfast-kids galore, we could not even get in the pool so many "Families-WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN, barb wire across the street, bad area.

Rock-hard Pillows, roaches, hard beds--STAY AWAY
We were there with the family to enjoy labor-day weekend. Please stay away form this hotel. You can have a better hotels in downtown area in 99.99/ night than having rock-hard HUGE pillows, roaches everywhere, and no microwave, and no refrigerator. We had to pay more to upgrade our room to get microwave and refrigerator. Front desk's customer service was just okay. Cricket in the rooms also did not let us sleep peacefully. parking isn't even free. You have to pay approx. $8/night for parking which is an additional charge.
