Very Classy

We loved this hotel, it was tasteful, the staff were helpful and friendly. The room overlooked the pool, it was very quiet and peaceful. Loved it, only drawback, parking of $32.00 a night, was a little excessive we felt, also paying for the internet seemed a little harsh! But will go back, hopefully, we loved that it was right there on the Riverwalk. A classy hotel, just perfect really.

Perfect location

La Mansion is perfectly located on the riverwalk. The rooms are very nice and always clean. The rooms were quiet, only the occassional outside car horn. The staff was friendly from the valets to the waiters. The only downside to our stay was that we were not on the riverwalk side of the building so we had a view of the parking garage across the street.

Needs renovating

This is NOT a four star hotel. When we arrived, we were placed in a room with a view of a parking deck. I had purchased a room with a poolside view. The room was smelly and very humid. We requested a different room. This one was poolside and smelled cleaner. However, I do not believe the clock on the bedside table had seen a dust rag since it was placed there. The hotel did not appear to be very clean. It is desperate need of a major renovation. The staff was polite and the location on the Riverwalk was excellent. But I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it to friends.

Great place to share with someone special!

The river walk was a mere 15 steps from where we got off the elevator. Very old school hotel, they don't make them like this anymore!

Weekend getaway

The location was ideal for visiting the Riverwalk and Alamo. You can walk to the shops, restaurants, mall, IMAX, Tower of the Americas, markets, and other attractions. Parking on site was overpriced but a public garage is conveniently located across the street at a more reasonable price. The bathroom could have been bigger but was certainly adequate.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The IMAX has a 45 minute show on the Alamo that starts on the hour all day long. It is just a block away. Go see the movie before visiting the Alamo and it will bring everything into perspective.

On the San Antonio Riverwalk

Omni La Mansion del Rio is not the fanciest hotel in downtown SA, but the staff make up for any deficiencies in that area. They are excellent and go out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are very comfortable though not wildly stylish. My only issue is with the coffee maker that resides in the entertainment center. You need to plug it in each time but to do so requires some agility. Once you make the coffee do not put out the shelf it is on as you will dump the contents of the cup into your dresser drawer! I would certainly recommend this hotel. The location coupled with the staff can't be beat!

Very Good Experience

Perfect Location close to the nightclub and food district of the River Walk. Very friendly staff. Older hotel as reflected in the overall condition (cracks in the marble floors etc) but well maintained. Restaurant is a little on the pricey side, but excellent service.

Fabulous location - even better staff!

The hotel is in the perfect location for the ultimate enjoyment of the San Antonio Riverwalk. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive and always ready to be of assistance. The hotel restaurant is quite nice for a relaxing, better than average continental dinner - It overlooks the Riverwalk - but is out of the heat and hustle/bustle on busy nights - A great spot to get away from the noise but with all of the views of the river and happenings. The rooms are spacious and could use updating...but extremely clean and not worn, just dated...

Weekend getaway

My wife and I spent a couple of days here for our anniversary. We opted for the Omni due to its location and the pictures and reviews seemed positive. I must say that I have stayed in much nicer hotels for less money. We were on the first floor, away from the River and the street noise was horrible. There was a parking garage across the street and constant noise from both car traffic as well as pedestrians. Also note that parking was ridiculously priced. I will not stay at an Omni again unless my options are very limited. It's a $125 to $150/Night hotel priced much higher than that.
