Good place - nice amenities

This new hotel was very clean. Advertised breakfast was basic with waffles, yogurt, peanut butter and bagels. Fruit and juices. No eggs. The manager's reception in the evening was dissapointingly sporadic, although when we asked we could get a glass of wine etc. Very clean, great staff, lovely location on the outskirts of San Antonio.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

If you are a rockhounder, ask for a few rocks from the landscaping. I found some jasper and flint. I requested that I could take a half-dozen or so rocks and the management said OK. I did not take more than approved by management.

Nice stay

Clean, new, beds comfortable. Thin walls resulted in some noisy nights. HVAC system was noisy when coming on. Comfortable room -- small but adequate -- the Microtel says it all. The lobby was fantastic. I could do needlework in its great lighting. Roomy and many levels of seating and comfort. I wish it had at least a hotel newspaper.
