So close to Lackland Air Force Base, guests can hear “Taps” played each night
The tangerine-colored La Quinta Inn San Antonio Lackland hotel is so close to Lackland Air Force Base, guests can hear "Taps" played on a nightly basis. The location is convenient to many local attractions, including the Alamo, Market Square and Institute of Texan Cultures. Parking is free, as is the Bright Side Breakfast. Also free are as many local calls as guests wish to make. Two outdoor pools are open year round. Excellent Front Desk Staff
Front desk staff were knowledgeable about the area, gave us excellent directions, got our boarding passes printed and were friendly in the process. The property needs some serious face lifting work but the rooms were clean. We stayed four nights and the room was completely cleaned and resupplied every day.

Hotel is less than one mile from the entrance to Lackland Air Force Base. If you're going to see a loved one graduate from Basic Military Training (boot camp) this is the closest and most convenient place to stay. They know their stuff when it comes to the base.

Comfy and good breakfast
For the price I paid, I wasn't expecting such a nice, comfy room with a flat screen tv! Very nice. And continental breakfast offered had a pretty good variety of choices!

When in Texas, make sure you have a GPS or a good map...it is pretty easy to get lost on a first visit! Most malls and hotels have maps, so grab a few!

Amazing BMT stay
La Quinta is your suite if your destination is San Antonio, TX. It's fairly close to downtown San Antonio and extremely close to Lackland AFB. Actually, it's walking distance from the base. The hotel has an amiable staff, free complimentary breakfast, and convenient room accomidations.

Sea world in San Antonio is about 25-30 minutes from the hotel and it's a very fun experience for families.

At end of base fence...very close, very nice. R. turn out of hotel takes you to base gates. Stayed in 2nd bldg. As quite as any hotel room near major hyway. Small pool but didn't go to swim. Nice breakfast. Friendly Helpful staff, with good language skills. Room clean, Shower small but plenty of room for its purpose. Room plenty large, King bed, comfortable for a hotel bed. Air unit, plenty cold. Good Hotel for convience and price for Lackland AFB activities.

worst
They charged my card but gave my room to someone else, the room I got A/C was broken smelled like mold, poor bed quality and poor accomodations in the breakfast area left people pushing to get by. Would never stay here no matter what the price.

Visiting Air Force Mom
Nice visit! Attended my son's AF BMT Graduation. Can't beat the location, unless you are on base! The room was clean, but the bathroom is a bit small (can't open the door and show door at the same time), wish they had small refrigerators in the room. It was nice to have laundry facilities on the premises and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel if you are there for a short stay.

Easy access to I410 and dining. Fast food in immediate area (Military Drive) and Hwy 90 (East) will take you straight to Downtown SA (Houston St.).

Comfortable, clean, and close
This hotel was very convenient to Lackland AFB, where we needed to be. The bed was very comfortable, loved the chair! To be able to put your feet up after a days walk was very nice. The ONLY thing we would have liked to see was a refridgerator, the tap water is warm and the ice melted fast. We stayed for 4 days and it would have been nice to have. The toilet and shower is very small, but it worked. The continental breakfast was nice as well. A very nice place.

Check to see what gates are open when, we did alot of driving around after dropping off our airman to find a way out of the base. Your GPS will not take you right to the hotels door. TAKE that exit for Hwy 13.

WE ARE AIR FORCE!
Great location
Our son graduated AF BMT March 11th and we were pleased how close the La Quinta was to the base. We had 5 rooms and all were clean and comfortable during our 4 day stay. The early morning breakfast was good, plentiful, well stocked and appreciated.
