Good location and price

Great location just 5 minutes from downtown, the Alamo, and the convention center. Decent breakfast and pool. A/C worked well and the rooms were comfortable. Desk staff very friendly. Only problems - no towels in room and had to go to desk and get them. Also, the fold out sofa bed is uncomfortable and did not have any pillows or thick blankets with it.

Nice location

It's close enough to the river walk to walk down to it. This was nice. I also love that LaQuinta is dog friendly. I have 2 great danes that travel with me and so LaQuinta is one of the best because they don't charge for pets and don't have arbitrary weight limits. My main gripe for this hotel was the shower. Very little water pressure and the shower head was a cheap plastic thing that costs about $10 at walmart. I didn't have towels in the bathroom when i arrived and had to go request them. The other thing is that apparently local restaurants shove flyers under all the doors. The key comes with a warning not to order from these places. Or they could probably just not let these folks in. Yay for pet friendly and location. Boo for being ordinary and poor shower.

Great Experience

We visited Lackland AFB to see our grandson graduate from Basic Military Instruction. We also visited some of the the historic sites such as the Alamo and the RiverWalk. It was a good time of the year to visit. The "tourists' were at a minimum and the weather was cool and comfortable.

Better than I thought it would be

I checked in late and received great assistance from the young woman at the front desk. I was hungry and she pointed me in the right direction for a quick meal as well as suggestions for great food for later in my stay. The next morning, the day staff was friendly and helpful. My last day the poor desk assistant picked up my bag and nearly herniated himself, but was still cheerful and helpful. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

NICE HOTEL

WE ATTENDED A FOOTBALL GAME AT THE ALAMODOME. THE TV SET WERE OLDER AND WE COULD NOT PLAY OUR VIDEO GAMES. WE HAD STAYED AT AN LA QUINTA IN WACO THIS SUMMER THAT HAD HD TV'S AND WE WERE ABLE TO HOOK UP THE CONSOLE. THE BUSINESS CENTER WAS LOCKED AND YOU HAD TO GET THE KEY FROM THE FRONT DESK TO USE IT. OTHER THAN THE ABOVE IT WAS A NICE TRIP. WILL PROBABLY ASK IN ADVANCE ABOUT THE TV IN THE FUTURE. GOT TO KEEP THE KIDS HAPPY.

Good Location, nice big room.

The only negative aspect was the people across the hall had a yappy little dog they left alone in the room all day and he wasn't happy. I asked at the desk what that was about and they said, "Oh, we're a pet friendly motel." Hmmm. Would have been nice to know ahead. Otherwise, a really nice place in a good location with a big room with amenities. We'd stay there again. Most pet owners are more considerate.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

We bought two tickets on the San Antonio Trolley, to get an overview of the city before exploring. These are the red and green trolleys, (there are others). What a waste of $40! The trolleys were all supposedly "out of commission". They took us on a huge Greyhound style bus on a quick trip around town. Many things on the route were closed such as the Mission Concepcione' and the King William district. OK, stuff happens, but tell us BEFORE we buy your $40 tickets. The driver made a lot of excuses and it probably wasn't his fault, but it was really a giant rip-off. Avoid the San Antonio Trolley Company! Otherwise, San Antonio with Riverwalk, the Missions and the Mexican markets is quite wonderful. We had many good meals and memorable moments. Great get-away.

Nice Stay

We had a good stay. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking to the Riverwalk wasn't bad. Downtown San Antonio is very well patrolled so safety wasn't an issue. We did have ants get in our car while sitting in the parking lot.........and I mean alot of them. The breakfast was nice.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Close enough to walk to the Riverwalk. But since I was a lady alone would suggest taking trolley for $1.10 each way if going in the evening. The last few blocks are pretty deserted.
