Great Family vacation

Loved everything - the lazy river, the movies on the lawn at night, the weekend breakfast buffet, the patio in front of our room, the children's activities, and, oh yeah, the margaritas! Would have loved to try out the spa, but was too busy.

Nice

Nice place to stay. There are daily activities for children including an outdoor movie at night on the lawn and a fantastic heated swim area. The location is great, easy to find and close to Sea World and reastaraunts. Stayed in March - good weather, Blue Bonnets & other wild flowers, no pesky bugs, cool evenings.

A great experience, again!

My daughter and I wanted some girl time after she finished her first year away at college and this was perfect. It has been several years since I've been a guest here, and I was delighted to find it is still such a great experience. The staff was wonderful - they think of everything, and are so gracious and professional. The only down side was the stressed-out-looking landscaping - probably drought and water-restriction related, and the Lazy River area needed to be cleaned up after what looked like a busy Father's Day weekend.

Great place to take the kids

The reception staff, concierge, restaurant staff, room service staff, and pool restaurant staff are all extremely courteous. The spa staff seemed bored and did not try to work us in in the forty eight hours we were there. Their indifference made us not care if we used any of the spa services. We did our own mani/pedis. I had tried to book spa services online two months in advance but you can't. The hotel is beautiful and the hill country surroundings are very relaxing. You have to like children to go here. It would not be a place for a romantic weekend. Kids are everywhere. They have a nice ping pong table outside, smores at night, a playground, movies on the lawn at night, and the pools are great. I had my ten year old daughter, so we had a great time. All in all, we had a wonderful time floating around the lazy river and the room was very nice.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

They charge 18% gratuity on everything you eat or drink. A good tip is to buy the $12 refillable beverage jug. You can use it everyday for free drinks of colas, lemonade or iced tea. It will save you a lot of money and their other drinks are small.

Wonderful family resort

We ventured out quite a bit but were happy to return to enjoy the amenities. The cold weather made use of the lazy river impossible for adults, but doable for kids.

Great family resort!

We spent a great weekend at the pool and lazy river! The kids loved the 'beach' and the various pools are great for all ages! We were impressed with all of the childrens activities and will be back to utilize them so that we can play golf; the course looks amazing.

Great family stay

Great resort hotel. You can walk anywhere onsite in 5 minutes. We had room service and Springhouse Cafe and both were very good at reasonable prices. My 5 year old son loved all the great scheduled activities. The staff is excellent and very helpful on any questions. Be ready for families! The kids outnumber adults. This is not a quiet "romantic" resort spot.

We checked in, then went to a close HEB store for all the snacks and drinks that would fit into a mini-fridge. The food onsite is good but the snack selections at the General Store are very limited, and it closes at 9pm.
