Excellent!!!

We've stayed at Wild Oak Ranch several times. This is the first time to stay at Hill Country. The service, the cleanliness, the staff, the poo land lazy river were all great. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spotless. We ordered room service for breakfast and it arrived exactly when we requested. Could not ask for a better stay. We Wild Oak is just as nice except the beds on our visit a year or so ago were terrible. I think they were in the process of replacing all the mattresses.

Great Family Place

Very family oriented. Wonderful attentive staff, all the way around. The food was pretty good depending on your needs. Fun man made lazy river with stop offs to pool, beach, food and drinks. Great location if your visiting Sea World. (right across the road) Unfortunately my husband and I did not have a chance to enjoy the spa or golf:( Would definately return for a short getaway.

vacation over priced!

The room was small and dirty and staff was rude. I paid 1000.00 for three nights in a room as big as a bathroom. My wife is mad and may divorce me over this trip.

Old hotel with old air conditioning In Texas? Really?

I travel all the time and want to go to the best hotels and resorts I can afford. The valet parking and bell captain were very professional. Room was a bit old feeling but had a flat screen TV. The air conditioning was old and tired so we were hot and didn't sleep like usual. Towels in the room are something like Motel 6 would have, nice and rough. We're talking $300 per night for the roughest towels Ive seen in years. Phone in room was 20-30 years old. Nice shampoo and conditioner. The cheapest toilet paper in the world as well! Now for the lazy river. Way better towels than in the room!! I wanted to take them to my room to avoid the scratchy towels in my bathroom. Two of the four circulating pumps in the river are not working. I spoke with a employee who said they were not working for quite a long time! Water fall feature not working. Dirty water with lots of leaves. Pricey drinks were terrible and from two different bars. The bartender on the river was hard to talk to and not friendly at all, no greeting or smile at all and then charges $10 for the worst daquiri Ive ever had. Then there's a $22 resort fee which includes free wifi and a bunch of other stuff to do outside in the middle of the summerr in Texas? Why is such a crowded place like this going so down hill? There is no excuse for not having the pumps and waterfall working. No excuse for the bad drinks and terrible air conditioning! I'll never go back to this place. Yikes!

Great Family vacation

Loved everything - the lazy river, the movies on the lawn at night, the weekend breakfast buffet, the patio in front of our room, the children's activities, and, oh yeah, the margaritas! Would have loved to try out the spa, but was too busy.

Nice

Nice place to stay. There are daily activities for children including an outdoor movie at night on the lawn and a fantastic heated swim area. The location is great, easy to find and close to Sea World and reastaraunts. Stayed in March - good weather, Blue Bonnets & other wild flowers, no pesky bugs, cool evenings.
