Bed Bugs!!! Horrible place to stay

i was awakened at 4am by loud drunks outside the thin walls of my room. I'm glad, because I turned on the light to discover my bed was crawling with bed bugs! I immediately took a 15 minute shower, dressed and took all my things to my car. I reported it to the manager, but they didn't do a thing to compensate me. I'll never go back to this dirt bag motel!

Disappointment in a big way

The room type that I had reserved and paid for in advance, nonsmoking king bed, was not available when I arrived. The hotel first placed me in a smoking room with a king size bed without informing me. When I entered the room it was not very pleasant. I returned to the front desk and asked to be placed in a nonsmoking room with a king size bed as per my reservation. I was told that they did not have any available, but that they could place me in a nonsmoking room with two double beds for $11.00 more. Since I was scheduled to be at an appointment shortly and had prepaided for a room, I did not feel that I any choice but to accept what they were offering. I am very disappointed that I was treated in this manner. I am of the opinion that either [...] or the hotel chain should should pay for the difference. My feelings on this matter are strong enough that I will not do business with [...]again if I am not reimbursed for the difference.

the room was very large but overall it had A GRUNGY FEELING TO IT. THE COMFORTER FELT DIRTY. THE CARPET FELT DIRTY. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GENEROUS WITH EGGS BACON(TURKEY) TOAST BAGELS PASTERIES AND CEREAL. COFFEE N JUICES AND WAFFLES NICE! EXCEPT THEY TRIED TO STOP ME FROM LEAVING THE HOTEL WITH AN EGG BACON SANDWICH! THATS WEN THE STAFF LOST ALL POINTS! SHOPPING N DINING WAS VERY CLOSE. THE FITTNESS AREA TWO OUT OF THE THREE MACHINES WERE NOT FUNCTIONING. OVERALL NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE.

Never again

This is the first & I hope last negative review I have to write. First we had only 2 hangers for 2 people. I was told no more could be installed. I explained the simple procedure to open the rod and put more hangers on. This was done the next day after I pushed it. The carpet hasn't been cleaned in a long time. We only had 1 towel and washcloth for the 2 of us and this occurred 6 of the 8 days we were there. We had to go after them each time. The second day all ice machines were shut off. The manager deciding no ice was needed in February. Maybe drinks his soda hot! They stayed off the entire time. Trying to discuss anything with the manager was like talking to a wall; simply put the man is a jerk. Also the free breakfast was so poor we paid elsewhere. Never ever a Howard Johnson's again.

The hotel ws nice but most days we did not have enough towels. Usually the set up for only 1 traveler. We had a handicap access room but it didn't include any bars to hold on to close to the tub and shower. The location for us was good as it was only a few miles from our son's home.

Handling Fee and Bull Frog Toilets

I was charged a $2+ handling fee. I complained about the surprise fee and was told I could go somewhere else. I would have taken him up on it except I had been driving for 12 hours and I was tired plus I had prepaid. The room was okay except that every 50 seconds the toilet ran sounding like a bull frog. Then a few seconds later a toilet in a near by room would answer. The tub faucet dribbled continuously. It was like camping in a swamp.

RUN!.... away from this hotel!

They refused to give me a receipt at check out. The gentleman who called himself the General Manager said that I was crazy to ask for a receipt. I explained to him that since they scanned my credit card at check in so that they can charge for incidentals in the room if there are any, that he should give me a zero receipt showing they have not charged me and have closed out my card. He called me stupid and insane and told me to get out of his hotel, that if he wanted to charge someones credit card he had thousands better than mine to do so with. When I checked in, the desk clerk was being rude to another guest on the phone who called with an issue.
