HJ on I-10 San Antonio

Very basic hotel. Some parts are showing their age (air conditioning and shower). Nothing fancy but functional.

They gave us a smoking room, the air conditioner made noise al the time, the toilet and the bath tub doest´t work and in the bed were many ants that bites me a lot.

Would not stay at a low budget hotel again

The hotel was o.k. overall. The room was clean, but the bathroom was very old and the floor looked dirty and rusty all over. I was very discouraged from taking a shower or stepping foot inside it. It's the first and last time I stay at a hotel that is cheap in cost. You get what you pay for. I prefer to stay at new hotels.

great price, friendly staff

Had a great stay here and would go back again. Loved the fact that it had a micro fridge to keep my beer cold. Not to close to downtown but the comfort and hospitality of the company was worth the drive.

Great!

I was working so I didn't want to pay a lot for a motel. This Howard Johnson Express more than met my needs! It was clean, comfortable, good location, had amenities and the staff was nice. It would be great if the carpet and bedspread felt cleaner - my only negative. Great value!

Good value

Their staff is very friendly. The hot breakfast is waffles, eggs, sausage, juice, and coffee. Don't expect a nice TV in your room, it's a little outdated. They do have Wi-fi, it runs pretty well. The bed was nice. For the cost, it is a good deal.

maybe just that weekend

The first night there was a lot of banging on a door an treats of calling the cops. Turned out some girl had a bat in her room hotel-staff were to afraid so I caught it an let it out.Second night toilet was clogged first tried to call the office .No answer several times.I went down stairs and after waiting about 45 minutes the person working there showed up .I told him the problem he handed me the plunger .also AC wasn't working right very noisy .Other wise everything else was fine

Weekend stay in San Antonio

Very good altogether. About the only thing that was not, was the bathroom caulking all around the tile area. It looking like a very cheap job. Staff was good and so was the "hot" breakfast that you don't see often in hotels.
