Nice stylish hotel

Hotel is nicely appointed but a little dark. Bar is elegant with a great selection of boutique Texas liquors. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Great choices on room service menu. Would definately recommend. Did not recieve five stars because there is no concierge or pool.

A fine stay

We stayed for 4 days as our son was graduating at Lackland AFB Nice hotel. Great location by the riverwalk. Appears to be recently refurbished. Very dark lighting but well appointed. My biggest complant was parking your car was $29 per day. A bit heavy when the hotel charges are more reasonable. About 15 minutes to Lackland and an easy drive. We would stay again.

Great room - food service needs help!

The room was great. Very comfortable bed and a view of the Riverwalk. Having breakfast at the hotel restaurant was a disaster. It took well over a half-hour to get our food. We had ordered pancakes and waffles. The restaurant was out of maple syrup! They were unable to come up with any and they did not offer to change the order and did not ask if we wanted something else. All other hotel staff were extremely helpful and other amenities were good.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Mi Tierra restaurant was fabulous! Wonderful food, consistent quality and great variety. Mi Tierra has its own bakery and is open 24 hours a day. The bar had a fabulous selection of premium tequilas and a wonderful atmosphere. Even though they serve hundreds of people at a time, the service is prompt and efficient and you feel like you're visiting a small local restaurant.

Unique and Comfortable

This hotel was very stylish and comfortable. I would have taken the big overstuffed leather chair back to my apartment if I could have gotten on the airplane. The facility is warm and inviting and does not look like the typical drone corporate hotel you find coast-to-coast. The staff is friendly. Citrus, the restaurant, is quite good. Also, you can get excellent coffee from Sip, which is on the corner.

John Besh of Nola fame has opened a restaurant called Luke across the street. Luke is worthy of his name, and fantastic Cajun/Creole food can be found here.

Contemporary Gem

Conveniently located on the Riverwalk, within walking distance of most of the "must see" sights of San Antonio. The room was clean, with modern, contemporary appointments and looked just like the pictures on their web site. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in at a hotel. Security is impressive. You must use your room key to access the elevators. The housekeeping and door staff were most courteous and helpful. The bar area affords comfortable seating areas for both intimate conversations and group gatherings. The courtyard, with its massive wall fountain and fireplace was a pleasant area for a romantic retreat. The only blemish, to an otherwise delightful stay, was on our last night at the Valencia. The guests staying in the room next to ours were extremely loud into the wee hours of the morning. Had it not been for this unfortunate incident, our stay would have been close to perfect.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Take the Riverwalk north, away from the restaurants and shops, to the San Antonio Museum of Art. The museum is approximately one mile. The walk is quiet and picturesque. The museum is small, in comparison to some larger city museums, but totally delightful. Also stop into some of the lovely shops along Houston Street. The shopowners there were friendly and gave us some very helpful information about what to see and do, apart from the traditional "touristy" attractions.

Beautiful and charming

My friend and I wanted to catch up and visit for few days in San Antonio - we chose the Valencia based on a recommendation in the Globe and Mail and were thrilled with the beautiful room with the best pillows ever, friendly and courteous service and the perfect location in San Antonio right on the nicest part of the RiverWalk

Very quiet and comfortable

This hotel was very quiet, which I appreciated since I had to work from my room. I found it well furnished and comfortable. My only complaint was that the entire hotel was intentionally dark. This complimented their theme, but was a bit much for those of us that need a fair amount of lighting to tend to business matters. Also, the business center is nothing more than 3 computers out in the open. I had trouble printing .pdf files emailed to myself. But the hotel was very nice and convenient to the Riverwalk for those wanting leisure activities.
