Hotel Valencia is a bargain
I am a travel writer, so I am relatively picky. We were extremely surprised at how well appointed the hotel/room was and felt that while it is larger than a "boutique" hotel,it was like we were in a boutique hotel the entire stay. The restaurant is really great and guests get a lot of quiet attention. We will stay there on our next trip to San Antonio. Thanks for the tip and the booking. By the way, a pool would have been nice in the hotel, but the temps were in the 50's while we were there and if we had wanted to swim, we could have stayed at home.

Wonderful Weekend Excursion
Hotel Valencia is a beautiful hotel. The rooms can switch from dark and romantic to bright and upbeat with an easy twist to the window blinds. The location was wonderful as we were right at the start of the Riverwalk's horseshoe so it was easy to get around if we desired to avoid the congestion by the restaurants. The Riverboat Tour was conveniently accessible from Hotel Valencia as were many of the tourist attractions. Thank you for a wonderful and luxurious stay!

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Avoid the Wydham tour of their new hotel! All the freebies they promised (free cruise, free Riverboat Tour, free IMAX tickets, free dinner, etc) aren't worth the time as it would easily take 2-3 hours of precious vacation time, even though we were told it was only 1.5hrs long. Also, skip Papa Jim's Botanica was a very weird shop of voodoo stuff, but laid out similar to a Walgreen's or other pharmacy. We thought it would be fun, but it was just weird... and not an interesting weird.

Excellent experience
The location couldn't be better as it is directly off of a main road and the river walk itself. Beautifully appointed and very clean. The staff were universally pleasant, eager and helpful. Parking is valet only, which is both a drawback and a bonus.
