The dignified, stately Gibbs Building blends with the surrounding architecture but once inside visitors experience an extraordinarily different environment, with contemporary styling and relaxed, colorful décor throughout. The atmosphere here is warm and friendly, customer service is paramount and friendly staff members happily assist guests with a variety of information and advice. The Hotel Indigo is just across the street from the Alamo, too.

poor quality & service
The key card doesn't work all the time, we had to go back down to have it fixed (too much hassle esp when we're very tired). The parking was very expensive $25 per night. There are lots of hotels on better location so I think this hotel is a rip off. I don't usually say something not nice of a place but our experience with this hotel was terrible!

Do not stay at Hotel Indigo
We paid for a junior suite but could not stay in it because the airconditioner was so loud that no one could sleep in the room. Also the room was infested with ants. The staf was very polite, but inly offered the excuse that it was an old building.

The man
Cleaned out!
While at the hotel, I was charged over $2,800 for what, no one could explain to me. I spent the duration of my stay, disputing the charges. The hotel said that it was the banks fault and the bank said it was the hotels fault. When it all came out, the front desk worker that checked me in made the mistake. They tried to charge my card for a room that was already paid for. The first morning there, I had a $241 charge, the next morning a $997 authorization fee that could not be explained and the third day a $1,645 charge that could not be explained. Save yourself some trouble and stay somewhere else.

Good value, security issues
Nice hotel, great value and close to the Alamo, convention center. Nice staff. Here's the problem - the area has a large transient / homeless population and the side entrance to the hotel was unlocked and unmonitored all night on both nights I stayed there. Combine that with unfettered elevator access to all floors and you're asking for trouble. Would not have been comfortable if my kids or wife were with me. Oh, and the rooms are very small.

The location made it worthwhile.
I thought this would be a great deal but the rooms felt small. Granted it was a historical building and the rooms have been competely redone. Bathroom was small. There was no soap on the sink or in the shower. Only shampoo. There is no pool and the parking is expensive. The only thing that made it worthwhile was the location. Directly across the street from the Alamo. One block from riverwalk. One block from Rivercenter mall.

A Work in Progress
The hotel is still a work in progress. It is a wonderful location and the renovation of this historic building into a hotel is lovely. Modern decor and comfortable bed. However, the A/C is noisy and didnt seem to cool our room and when brought to the attention of the staff it seems that this was a known problem with some of the rooms as they are in the process of upgrading. The staff was not friendly and we made several calls to room service in an attempt to order off what seemed to be a great menu. When we walked down to the front desk and made them aware that no one was answering in room service we were told the kitchen staff often dont hear the room service line and arent good about checking the voicemail so we should have placed an order with the front desk. Obviously they are a new establishment and working out the kinks but they could really use a lesson in customer service.

You will have to pay for parking and your options are $25 valet at the hotel and you can come and go as you please or $8-10 per 12hrs BUT you have to repay if you leave and plan to come back.

A liitle dissapointed
We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the Alamo and Riverwalk.Thought it would be better for the price. The bathroom was really small and the sink was in the other room. We also had about four crickets in the rooom.Staff was great but this hotel just wasn't for me.

Good hotel, room for improvement
The hotel location was very good. The hotel itsself was beautiful. However, what really matters is the hotel room. We got a standard room (a queen bed) and we could barley move around in the room. We are both thin people, and that is the only reason why we could get from one place in the room to another. The hotel room right by us was a king bed and the room was much bigger. They said the hotel was fully booked so they could not switch rooms, but I never saw anyone on our floor so I dont know how they could be. The hotel offers a breakfast buffett for about $10. Skip it. The food is not good at all and you dont really get a meal. It took them FOREVER to get a room ready for us. Check out time is 11 am, yet we could not get a room till after 3:30 pm and that is when we had to ask numerous amount of times to get a hotel room ready for us. That was extremly annoying. Overall, it was a good hotel, but has lots of room for improvement.

Super small rooms
I reserved this hotel based on their pictures of the rooms(never again). They looked very pretty and modern, something different. We walked in our room and the door literally almost hit the bed. The room was super small, I mean tiny. We had to squeeze next to each other while moving in the room around the bed. I went downstairs to complain and ask for another room and they were all booked but did say as soon as another room opened up they would honor my request. Thirty minutes later a room opened up with a king size bed and little more room. They gave it to us with no extra charges! I was told the hotel was recently remodeled and only open 3 months and you could tell. It was very obvious. The floor was substantially uneven, the tile work was so off, the paint job was horrible. I couldn't believe they opened this and allowed people to stay here. I could of done a better job! Some positives were it was very close to the riverwalk, super comfy beds, awesome staff (thanks [...]). But don't think I'll be back.
