un satisfactory
we arrived as planned and upon arrival there was a power outage . we were told that it was city wide although traffic lights were still functioning and the event that we were attending had power as well . we waited for a good while and decided to look else where . we found a place about less than 1/4 mile it had vacancies and power as well so we booked a room. i feel that the hotel was not up front with us . therefore was disapointed by the way they handled the situation .

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Mi Tierra Restaurant & Bakery is just a few blocks away, their food is really authentic and it's the only Mexican restaurant that I can actually aprove of being actual mexican food. The Bakery is even better, I just loved the Elephant Ears(pastry)!

Quick weekend getaway
Overall experience was very good. The restaurant isn't great, but adequate food is available. I would recommend going elsewhere for food though. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable.

Holiday Inn Market Square Visit
The location was great - it easy access off I-35. I was late getting there for a trade show but I wanted to check in before I went to the convention center. The staff took care of me quickly and then provided a shuttle to the convention center right away. The shuttle driver was friendly and courteous and picked me up at the show when it was finished. I had a late supper in the lounge before retiring. The waitress was super courteous. I would recommend this hotel to travelers, whether for business or pleasure.

Very pleasant facility only a mile from historic downtown
I thought the price was very affordable for a nicely-appointed hotel not far from the historic downtown area. My room was clean and the decor was definitely better than basic. Coffee-maker, iron and ironing board and hair-dryer all provided. I liked the mile walk across town so that I could see the city and drop by the cathedral on the main square.

Great location for a great price
Staff was nice and the room was clean. For the price I paid, it was an easy walk to the Riverwalk and had free parking. The location was also nice because it was close to everything but was in a quieter location.

Conference visitor to TX
Satisfied for price range
I was in town for three nights for a conference off the river walk but couldn't afford the prices in that area. This turned out to be a great alternative. The trolley stop across the street delivered me straight to the river walk within ten minutes, and the hotel also offers free shuttle van service within 5 miles. The driver was ready as soon as I requested a ride and was incredibly friendly. The front desk staff was equally attentive and friendly. Sure, the elevators could use a facelift, the televisions are old (i.e., not flat screen - at least in my room), the carpet might need an update sometime soon. But overall, I found it to be clean, quiet (never heard anything from neighbors on either side), close enough to the main stretch near the Alamo and considerably cheaper. A better restaurant would be a plus, especially for those without a car, but trolleys run late to the main areas and Pizza Hut is a three-minute walk down the road.
