Trip to the Riverwal.k
Our hotel room was wonderful with a view of the Riverwalk. The hotel lobby was just beautiful with waterfalls rushing through the lobby. Only disappointment was they advertised a jazz ensemble in the lobby and it evidently hasn't been there in a long time.

WOW....What a great stay!!
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Long Island the week before coming to San Antonio and what a difference between these hotels. The Hyatt Regency in San Antonio is spotless and very well maintained. My family stayed here for 4 days to see my son graduate Corpman's "A" school at Fort Sam Houston. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. I was a little surprised that we were charged $9.95 a day for access to the internet....in this day and age, I would expect all hotels to provided that service for free. The location is perfect. We wanted a place that would be centrally located to everything so we would not need to rent a car (they charge $13 for parking) and that's exactly what we got. You can exit the hotel from the back and be right on the Riverwalk (if you go left upon exiting the hotel, go to Crazy Sam's....they are the only location on the Riverwalk that can give you to-go beers and alcohol for walking along the Riverwalk) or exit the front doors and be a short walk away from the Alamo and the RiverCenter. We used a taxi to get to and from the airport ($30 each way) and to get to Fort Sam Houston ($25 each way). The staff was very helpful and pleasant, really making our stay enjoyable. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but there is definitely not a shortage of places to eat....either on the Riverwalk or downtown. We had great Mexican food at Rio Rio Cantina, seafood at Landry's Seafood House, a burger at The Republic of Texas, and the best steak at Texas Land & Cattle. My son and 20 other graduates had a celebratory dinner at Texas Land & Cattle and the staff was very accommodating with seating, individual checks for everyone, and a 20% military discount. Overall this vacation was wonderful and we will be staying at the Hyatt Regency when we return in the fall.

Hyatt Riverwalk
The room was nice enough but the service by the staff was poor. Requested an ice bucket and after waiting 2 hours we left the room. Never heard from them. Also, the room was never cleaned until after 3:00 and 1 day I called at 5:00 to have clean the room. Parking costs are also outrageous at $27 per day. Would not recommend this hotel.

Great Location on the River Walk
This is an impressive hotel on a great river attraction in a friendly easy going southwestern town. Close proximity to the Alamo is a bonus. I love this town and wish I had more time to spend here. The hotel has a great roof top swimming pool. Excellent exercise equipment room at no charge. I think free WiFi would make it a five star value. The views were great and even an inside room would give a view of the atrium which is an amazing 13 stories high.

Short walk from hotel
The Alamo is only one block away either by the river walk stairs or by the entrance one block above the river. Head south from the hotel via the river walk to the historic Missions past the Lone Star Brewery. Although the walk is not complete in this area you can hope back on the city streets for a few blocks to visit the missions. This is a high humidity area.

Quality Hotel
Gorgeous location in the heart of The Riverwalk with direct access through the hotel. Comfortable, luxurious rooms with private fridge and coffee maker. Only additional request would be a microwave in the room.

Easter Weekend, 2012
The Hyatt was perfectly located smack in the middle of the RiverWalk and all the restaurants. Very nice and pretty Hotel. Beds & pillows were soft and comfortable. Hotel Breakfast too expensive. Hotel Parking across the street was convenient but too expensive $27.00 a night for self parking. Staff were very nice. One slow Elevator to bottom level RiverWalk, need quicker access in addition to slow elevator which I think construction of stairs is in the process. Happy hour for guess hotel would be nice.
