The 16-story Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk hotel has 632 guest rooms, many with views of the River Walk or the historic Alamo. The rooftop terrace has a heated outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and panoramic views of downtown San Antonio. Guests dine and drink poolside. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the time we checked in until we left. The breakfast experience there was great. What a nice selection! The distance to the convention center was just right for a nice walk.

The mall has almost anything you could want. There are also some wonderful shops right in the hotel!

We were looking forward to watching the fireworks from the 11th floor pool. Sadly, it was under construction so no swimming or rooftop view of celebration. Other than that the bellmen were fantastic resources for dining and entertainment, not to mention directions.

Ask the Bellmen... they are a wealth of information. Food and drink in hotel, though delicious, were way over priced.

in the middle of it all
If you want to experience the Alamo and the busy part of the River Walk, this is the place. If you plan on staying out late at the river walk or down town bars, this is the place. Don't bother with "Q", the food was average, but the servie very slow. Bottomline, clean rooms, great location, comfortable location in the middle of it all.

Family Christmas
Was disappointed that the roof top was closed for remodel. This information was not disclosed at time of booking. This was the main reason we chose this hotel.

Excellent Location!

Great Business/Fun getaway
The hotel staff were very friendly and I appreciated their curtious, quick help. They supplied a refrigeratior for our room at no additional cost, which was handy given our 5 night stay.

The Casa Del Rio was close by (1-2 block walk on the riverwalk) and had great food and wonderful servers. I recommend the local Margaritas!

what they don't tell you
The Hyatt on the River walk is a very good hotel. They have a very helpful and courteous staff. However, you are paying for the location and not much else. What they don't tell you is there is a $25 per day parking fee and if you want valet it's $33 (27 and 35 with taxes). I don't mind having to pay for parking, but I want them to be up front about it. After you check in and want to quench your thirst be sure to check the fine print on the water bottle: large print says REFRESH YOUR THIRST and in the little tiny print it says $5...that is correct FIVE DOLLARS for a bottle of water!! Come on...I can get a FREE bottle just about ANY place else. The location is perfect for the Riverwalk and the Alamo!!

The guided tours on the London bus are worth the money. So is the horse and buggy. Take the river boat tour to check out everything on the river and maybe you'll get a funny guide like we had as a bonus.
