Pretty good stay
Very close to the Riverwalk. Quick drive or a very quick (and very safe) bus ride. Can't beat free WIFI or breakfast either. The hotel itself is older, and it shows a bit in the rooms. The bed was very comfortable, but the sink leaked all over the counter and onto the carpet. Overall, for the price, it was worth it. Staff was wonderful.

DO NOT pay to park in one of the $5 or $10 parking lots near the Alamo/Riverwalk. If you travel north to the intersection of 3rd St and Alamo St, you can find TONS of 10-hour meters at $0.25 an hour. Seriously, 25 cents an hour. So cheap!

not what we were expecting
The motel's interior and bathrooms could use some updating. We turned the heater on and the worst stench came out of it, we were moved to another room only to find the same problem. I know we were in San Antonio but the nights were cool. Overall the room was clean and the help at breakfast was wonderful.

Excellent Service
It was an excellent service, the people very polite and tended for all our needs! Especially when you are going to run a half marathon! Everything went so smooth :) only comment maybe they could offer a shuttle as an extra bonus...cuz coming back from the race walking again was EXHAUSTING... hahaha

The staff was very friendly and very helpful with directions. The breakfast was great. We were able to walk to everything (about 20 minutes each way) but there was a trolley if needed.

My husband and I took a mini trip to visit the Riverwalk for the weekend. Hotel parking is free and it is located about 3 blocks away from Market Square (Mi Tierra is a FABULOUS Mexican restaurant located there). The hotel is 7 blocks away from the Riverwalk and there is a trolley stop about 300 feet from the hotel that runs every 15 min (current one-way price of $1.10) until 12:30am. This is an older hotel that was not maintained well when it comes to cleanliness. We encountered crickets and other live insects in the bed, bathroom, and throughout the living space. The bathroom appeared to not be cleaned well or it just needed renovations. They served a descent comp breakfast with bagels, small muffins, packaged fruit, yogurt, microwaveable bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwiches, fresh waffles, and a few other items. The staff was courteous. The bedding package is nothing to look forward to. The beds felt like they were old with upgraded feather pillows. We have stayed in 1-5 star hotels, but mostly 4-5 star. The most recent 3 stars we stayed in were much cleaner or renovated. These are the reasons why I rank this hotel as a 2 star.

Mi Tierra located is just a short walk from the hotel and has great food, service, atmosphere, and great quality and quantity of food.
