Great room and location!
Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 Marathon Runner Nov 21, 2009
My mom and I were in San Antonio for the Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 Marathon. We absolutely LOVED the room- it was beautiful, ... comfortable, and quiet. The hotel was at an ideal location for us- we were able to walk downtown, to the Riverwalk, to and from the Alamodome, and to the start of the race. The only aspects that weren't ideal: parking fees (self park and valet) and they charged for their "runners breakfast" (bagels, coffee, fruit) and didn't offer a continental breakfast. Overall, we were happy staying there and would recommend it (just be prepared for the extra cost for parking and breakfast).

Okay, but not 4 Diamond quality
Frequent traveler Nov 10, 2009
We were a bit disappointed with our stay at the Emily Morgan. As a 4-Diamond hotel, we were expecting all the most modern ... ammenities and superb service. Our room was just standard, with a very old, outdated and dirty bathroom. There was hair on the floor and the toilet was not clean. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were pleasant, but nothing about the hotel stood out. It felt more like a 3-star hotel to us. I would only stay again if there were incredibly discounted rooms.

Decent enough for the money
e Nov 4, 2009
When I first checked in and got my room, it smelled horribly of smoke. I immediately returned to the front desk and the girl ... at the desk gave me a new room which was not smelly. They call themselves a "boutique" hotel, but the rooms are pretty banged up, and could use a good upgrade (paint, bedding, TV). I was also right next to an exit door, and heard people coming in and out of the door all night. VERY loud in the hallways. ANd to top it off, they cleaned the rooms across from me at 9pm. I could hear the walkie talkie from the cleaning person going off constantly while cleaning. If you're a heavy sleeper, it's a great deal...and I would totally recommend it. Just don't expect boutique style you would get in a city like Boston, NYC, etc.

This trip was to attend my son's graduation at Lackland AFB! The stay at Emily Morgan worked out just fine, about a twenty ... minute drive to the airbase and the Hotel location was great, only a few blocks to the Riverwalk which was the main attraction for most visitors I discovered. My stay of five days four nights was enjoyable and relaxing the rooms were large and unique also the staff was very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I were to visit the San Antonio area in the future.

GOOD LOCATION
sh Oct 16, 2009
Excellent location to the Alamo, Riverwalk, and the mall. Restaurant on site VERY expensive. Parking is also VERY ... expensive--$28 a day. Room was small but very clean. Also no gas stations downtown to fill up rental cars. Everything around closes at 5:30-6:00pm except the mall and of course Riverwalk...nothing for kids. Notice on back of room door states $1200. a day--has to be a joke!

Check in was excellent. We got there kind of early and found it easy to take off and have a great night. Everything was so ... close we didn't have to walk very far to have dinner. We had a nice quiet evening and got back to the hotel. We had a good view of the city with the giant windows, it really set the mood. All in all it was awesome.

IT WAS JUST BAD OVERALL.WE FIRST CHECKED INTO OUR ROOMS THE BLINDS WOULDNT OPEN.AFTER TAKING A SHORT NAP WE WOKE UP REALIZING ... THAT OUR AC WASNT COOLING IT WAS SUPER HOT IN OUR ROOM.WHILE GETTING DRESSED TO GO EAT DINNER WE WANTED SOME ICE WATER.SO WE OPENED THE ICE CONTAINER THAT IS PROVIDED IN THE ROOM,IT STILL HAD OLD WATER IN IT FROM WHO EVER STAYED THERE PREVIOUS TO US.THE STAFF WAS RUDE.THE ONLY GOOD THING HERE IS THAT ALL OUR COMPLAINTS WERE HANDLED IN A DESCENT TIME.BUT FOR BEING A FOUR STAR THESE COMPLAINTS SHOULDNT HAVE TO BE MADE AT ALL.I WOULDNT CONSIDER THIS A FOUR STAR HOTEL AT ALL.IVE HAD BETTER SERVICE AT 3 STAR HOTELS.

Concierge went above and beyond duty to accommodate us during our stay. All staff extremely helpful, friendly. Location is ... unbeatable, close to Riverwalk and next to Alamo. Hotel has ambience and character. Small room but for price, service and location, coffee maker problematic, but no complaints here considering the excellent rate. Highly recommend. Alamo- Emily Morgan Hotel
Laurie Sep 12, 2009
What a super location- across the street from the Alamo and a block from the river walk, dining, bars & entertainment. The ... beds were dreamy and the rooms were an adequate size. Complimentary welcome bottled water and tea making facilities were a nice touch. The bath-toilettries were a good quality, but the bathroom, itself, needed some refurbishment. The staff was preoccupied with talking on the phone and each other. The same thing happened the next day with the valet service. Check-in at late evening, with no other guests in line, still took almost 30 minutes. The concierge was unavailable the next morning, so we went to the Concierge at the Hyatt on the River walk who gave us a great suggestion for breakfast. We left HER a tip.

Nice place nothing really great. Was not impressed with the hidden parking prices I wish that we had known in advance that it ... was going to cost more than the prices of lots across the street before we parked and had our bags out of the car.Five dollars for a bottle of water was a LITTLE pricey also but you didn't have to drink it.Probaly won't stay at one again no we won't.

My Stay in San Antonio
Laura K. Aug 5, 2009
Over all, I liked the hotel. The location was perfect, right beside the Alamo and within walking distance to everything else ... you'd like to see. The pool was a big disappointment. It was tiny and only gets sun in the early morning...not good for sun worshipers. The restaurant was good...excellent breakfasts : ) The room I stayed in was nice, with a great view...even though some said it was haunted...I didn't feel it! I would stay there again...if I didn't want a tan!
