Historic Texas landmark with rooftop pool on San Antonio's River Walk
Equal effort was made maintaining the historical character of this 1920s-era 24-story skyscraper, formerly the Alamo Bank, and upgrading the amenities to include key luxuries, in keeping with the River Walk-adjacent glamour. Being just four blocks from San Antonio's Market Square and The Alamo makes tapping into the old-school charm easy -- as easy as it is to shop one's heart out at the boutiques on the glamorous River Walk or at the nearby River Center Mall.Highlights
- Right on the River Walk and in the heart of the theater district, across the street from the Aztec Theater
- Rooftop pool with two hot tubs
- Free hot Quikstart Breakfast and Kickback early-evening snacks, with hot food and cold beverages
Rooms
Many of the Drury Plaza Hotel's 380 rooms offer a place to watch the water lazily winding along the glitzy River Walk. If that ever loses its charm, every room has its own flat panel LCD TV, with HBO and a wide array of cable channels. Furnishings are traditional, with dark wood, subtle floral prints, and ample storage. Hair dryers, irons and ironing boards also come standard.
Features
The homey steakhouse chain, Texas Land and Cattle, is located on the property, and many more restaurants are just steps away. Theaters, including the Majestic, Empire, and Aztec are very close by. The palatial lobby features 50-foot ceilings, travertine flooring and stained glass windows.

Nice Hotel on the RiverWalk
This hotel is at one end of the activities as you can go right to the Riverwalk from the hotel door and turn right. You will need your room key to get back in. Very friendly staff and the three included drinks you get at cocktail hour have a wide variety including bloody mary's, beer and martini's. The snacks you receive at the same time are plentiful that on the two occassions we have stayed here, it has not been necessary to go out and eat elsewhere. An excellent breakfast is also provided in the morning. The only slightly negative item is that parking was advertised at $18.00, the sign on entering the parking garage said $19.00 and I was charged $20.00. The king sized bed was very comfortable and we both slept like rocks.

loved san antonio and this hotel
loved this hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The kickback hour saved us a lot on food money. Breakfast good. Sometimes elevators a little slow, pancakes were always cold, rooms were cleaned later in day than I was used to. Would go back and stay at this hotel. Thanks

San Antonio Riverwalk
My wife and I stayed here for two nights prior to my business meeting at a luxury resort North of San Antonio on La Cantera Pwk. I will say that we enjoyed the stay at you hotel much more for half of the price. You have a perfect location, great service and the breakfast and happy hour buffets are unreal. When we come back to San Antonio, you will be our first choice.

Bella's, Just around the corner to the right from the hotel. Definitely sit outside at one of the four tables and ask for Patrick. Best dining experience that we had.

Wonderful, did not want to come home! Nice people, clean room and hotel, preserved history of the old bank, fun to just tour the hotel. Had fun at the pool, good breakfast, can get evening cocktails & food all included. Right on river walk.

Awesome Extras
This is easy to find and is on the Riverwalk, but the wrong end if you are trying to be in the middle of everything. The Rio Taxi will pick you up right at the back door and take you wherever, but otherwise the walk is very long. The hotel itself is lovely and has awesome extras as far as food and drinks go. Free appetizer bar, popcorn, sodas, and three alcoholic drinks per person! Staff is extremely friendly also and helpful. The view from the rooftop pool and hot tub is splendid and very romantic with all of the lights of the city.

Short walk from hotel
If you want to be by the populated Riverwalk area, take the Rio Taxi to wherever you ask to be dropped off. They offer a 24 hour and three day pass.

Drury inn stay
The hotel was very nice. We stayed on the 19th floor and had great views of the city. The staff was very helpful, polite and took care of everything for us. They went way above what was required to make our stay a very good one.

The Riverwalk was very clean and nice, but the city was filled with homeless types which made you look over your shoulder. Such a nice city to have such a mess of homeless. This could be one of the best places if they could only clean up the homeless.
