Bed killed my back, LOW ceilings

Okay let me first say that the lady at the check in counter was wonderful. She even upgraded our room without me even asking. She was very friendly and I just wish the rest of the stay would have matched her high level of service. Once in the room, we realized that we needed more towels. We called down and requested some, but they never showed up. The ceilings (especially in the bathroom) were crazy low. My husband is 6'6" and was only about 1" shorter than the bathroom doorway and about 3" shorter than the ceiling. The ceiling was so low that the light fixture nearly burned him! Now for the bed...seemed okay, but about two hours after going to sleep I woke up with horrible back pain. I didn't sleep more than 30 minutes at a time all night. I was so anxious to get back home to my own bed, where my back pain magically disappeared. So, if you are prone to back pain when sleeping on sub-par beds or you are over 6'6" I would definitely steer clear.

San Antonio stay

It was not good at all we had reservations for 2 nights and we had to cancel the next night, the beds are horrible, the restroom wasn't that clean, and the people in the front desk were not that nice only the manager was able to help us. One good comment is the restaurant they have the food was good.

Family getaway

The hotel was in a perfect location. We were trying to get a hotel right on the river walk, but this was not even a mile away. The hotel was clean, bed was comfy, and they had extra towels for us. Good stay for one night, since we were out and about all day.

Good enough

This was a last minute choice, we were looking for somewhere to stay near downtown...this was the closest, yet wasn't close at all:/ kinda misleading about distance to downtown...sounded a lot closer than what it was...oh well it wasn't a bad hotel...no complaints

Overpriced

When I first walked into the room I thought to myself I coulda got the same type of room for under the price I paid. The bed wasn't bad wanted to take a shower and the handle was broken. Went to front desk and asked for another room and got questioned. The front desk person wasn't accommodating. He than said ill move u to another room then gave me the same room key and the overall wait for the process took about 30 mins or more. Honestly I was thinking doubletree had better standards but it's somewhere I wouldn't go back too. Been to better hotels for under the cost. Paid extra for parking no wifi pretty much everything is extra. Overall I made the best of my one night stay

Price is in compliance with quality

Overall I found the hotel is good, the quality corresponds to the price paid. There are gaps for improvement: I don't like the food at breakfast - the coffee was poor and the cup was dirty outside, the omlette was cool when served - I couldn't eat anything, it was not tasteful. I think that idea that you can pick up what u want and then hang it at the door is awesome, but the quality of food, taste is very poor, it does not correspond to Hilton brand I guess. The reception I liked much - very kind, polite, not asking non-relevant questions and quick. I liked that the billing process is very quick - it bothers me much and I pay special attention to this. Also there are things to improve within the cleaning process - early in the morning - table opposite the lift - I saw broked cookie staff and pocket near flowers - it was not pleasant. I understand that this fault of some non safely environment thinking guest of hotel - but clean up by hotel employees is essential, cause once you see such picture and dirty cup as described earlier- it makes me sucks (ssory for jargon). Parking is good, room is equipped also good. I like the conditioner much and mattress - I slept very well. The main strenght of the hotel is that it' nearby Riverwalk and Market square place - that makes me to have it as my hotel choice. That basically all main observations. Wish you good luck.

Nice stay

Great location. Short walk to the Market Square. The staff was friendly, bartender was great. Very relaxing stay. I will absolutely stay here the next time I'm in San Antonio. The only catch is they will charge you for parking on your final bill but you can't park anywhere downtown for free anyway

DO NOT Stay here -> they will put you in a occupied room!

I reserved 2 rooms with King bed, when we get there, the front desk staff said one of the rooms is booked as double bed room, but the confirmation email clearly indicated that it's 2 rooms both with King bed. I then asked the front desk to switch it to a King bed room, and she said she can do it. However, when we get up to the rooms, in one of the room did with a King bed, when I swipe the room card, I saw the TV is turned on, there are cloths on the bed, even an iPad on the desk!, obviously, this room has been occupied by someone else, although the guest is not in the room. The other room, which the front desk said should be a King bed room, turned out to be a double bed room. We got very upset and went down to the front desk. Another staff helped us switched to the correct rooms. However, she don't even say a "sorry" to us. So, if you don't want to run into someone's room and encounter the embarrass, or don't want to be surprise if someone swipe into your room and surprise you, do NOT stay in this hotel. Oh, they charge $10 for parking (not a day pass, just for one time use) for the guest living in t he hotel. Hey, this is not in NYC, and is not located along the river walk, they have plenty of room, they should not charge the parking.
