Business-minded hotel close to the Convention Center, on the River Walk
With 37,000 square feet of meeting space and 15 rooms that can be parceled out in a number of ways, and a short walk to the San Antonio Convention Center, the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverwalk is a key spot to do business. The proximity to the AT&T Center, Bank of America, Toyota and USAA doesn't hurt. There is plenty of fun and sightseeing to be had as well. The hotel is near the Alamo, Hemisfair Park, Tower of the Americas and the Alamodome. The rooftop pool is heated and a plaza overlooking the river is reminiscent of a Mexican market square.

Rooms

Cream-colored comforters top the beds in the rooms at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverwalk, but the dusters beneath are a fiery red color. Wrought-iron chandeliers are in some rooms. The refrigerators have ice makers (a plus in Texas) and a newspaper is delivered to each room every morning.

great couple gettng away

My husband I enjoy staying here its so comfortable the staff is always so friendly and helpful!great location for The places we enjoy at night we don't have to worry about driving love the pool and rooms r always so cool and clean we especially love that we could have a late check out the next day thanks

Perfect access to downtown San Antonio

We loved it, it was close to all the spots we needed to be. The room was verry clean and the staff was extremely polite.

Terrific family vacation!!

First of all, the hotel staff was awesome!! Aside from being extremely professional, they were friendly and made it known that they were there to serve you. The rooms were very comfortable. We have a 3 year old and a one year old and they were very comfortable as well. It is located downtown only a moments walk from restaurants and the price was extremely reasonable for being treated well. We will definitely stay here again!!

Conference grades

A wonderful place for a conference and sightseeing. We were able to walk to most anything we wanted within the hotel and to the riverwalk. The Alamo is however, on the other side of the river.

needs some help in areas

Hotel looks very nice and is clean in main lobby and staff are pleasant. No fridge in room, as stated on other reviews and had to pay $25 for small fridge, as we had some medicine and groceries needing it. Sink plug won't work and I had to just take it out. One day no towels, the next day towels and no made beds--not sure what happened there. Pool hot one day, hot tub cold, next day was fine. Conciere was of no help in finding certain things around the city. I looked them up myself on the computers. Loved the city and what we did, just expecting a little more.

Love this!

This hotel was great! It was in walking distance to the Alamo and shops and restaurants and the river walk! And the roof top pool is a definite bonus!

Great hotel terrible accounting staff

The stay at Crown Plaza was mared by being overcharged. The Front Desk personnel were very helpful by giving a discount on parking and providing a refrigerator for my medication. The staff as a whole were very freindly and helpful. My only problem was with their accounting department. Hopefuly they are going to credit me for the overcharge.

Weekend getaway

The staff were very helpful with answering questions and giving us directions about the Riverwalk. The parking prices is outrageous. I really think you should work on lowering it to around 15 a day and not 23. Also, I was not warned that there would be a charge for wireless and got stuck with an additional 10 dollar fee, I wouldn't have used it if I knew about it beforehand. Loved the roof top pool, the hot tub was nice but the "heated" pool was not heated like what the website advertised. We had lunch at the grill and the food took a good 40 min-1 hr to get ready when we just got sandwiches & fries, but I understand that they were understaffed that day so I totally understand being a former server myself. But overall a great hotel and felt very safe and secure.

quick visit

Not at all a 4 star.2 at best.Food was marginal,cold breakfast.Hotel needs a makeover everywhere.Pleasant staff.

could get more for your money

it was on the river walk but a ten minute walk to all the restaurants and clubs. no smoking anywhere but outside the building. no continental breakfast or complimentary water :(
