Business-minded hotel close to the Convention Center, on the River Walk
With 37,000 square feet of meeting space and 15 rooms that can be parceled out in a number of ways, and a short walk to the San Antonio Convention Center, the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverwalk is a key spot to do business. The proximity to the AT&T Center, Bank of America, Toyota and USAA doesn't hurt. There is plenty of fun and sightseeing to be had as well. The hotel is near the Alamo, Hemisfair Park, Tower of the Americas and the Alamodome. The rooftop pool is heated and a plaza overlooking the river is reminiscent of a Mexican market square.
Highlights
  • Heated outdoor pool and sun-drenched plaza with river view
  • Grab breakfast or watch the game at 111 Bar
  • Pecan Street Pub has overstuffed leather club chairs
  • Pets welcome
Rooms

Cream-colored comforters top the beds in the rooms at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverwalk, but the dusters beneath are a fiery red color. Wrought-iron chandeliers are in some rooms. The refrigerators have ice makers (a plus in Texas) and a newspaper is delivered to each room every morning.

Features

Guests at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Riverwalk sink into overstuffed leather club chairs and watch the game or have a chat at the Pecan Street Pub. The 111 Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is a great spot to watch the game, too. The outdoor pool and adjacent Jacuzzi is heated. There are two fitness centers, one off-site and one on, which allows 24-hour access. The hotel is within walking distance of the San Antonio Convention Center.

Weekend Getaway

I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The location was great! Not too far away from the best sites and right on the Riverwalk. The staff was very friendly and the room was super clean. The room could've been a little colder, but other than that I would most definetely stay here again and again for my trips to San Antonio!

Wear tennis shoes. The walk on the Riverwalk to the best sites is about 1/2 mile down. It was a nice walk though all in all.

It is a very nice place ver yclose to River Walk and other facilities

I used the room mainly for sleeping as I was at the conference during day time. The room did not have a refrigerator, but I got one when I asked for it. The room did not have an extra chair. No provision for making tea. Otherwise it was a fine room and the hotel facilities are excellent..

Nice place without the crowds of Riverwalk Loop

this isnt in the thick of Riverwalk; it is on the fringe of the busy areas. So if you want it a little quieter and dont want to battle crowds exiting your hotel onto Riverwalk, this is a good place to stay. River loop canal is only 5min away and Crowne Plaza is right on the river. We had no complaints about our stay or choice of hotel. I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends

Nice Hotel, Pricey

The hotel was very nice, but was a little over priced. I had friends staying at another hotel that was prices less but the room was bigger and nicer. The view was nice and the amenities were ok, however everything was overpriced.

Pretty good hotel, reasonably priced.

This hotel is pretty solid. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is quite good. The lobby is kind of tacky and the service, at restaurants and at the desk, can be uneven, but on the whole it's a good value. It would be great if it had something like a 24-hour coffee shop in the hotel.

It did the job.

The best part about this hotel is its staff. I can't say enough about the waiter/bartender in the hotel lobby bar, the concierge, and the valet/bellhops. They were so awesome. The hotel is spotless, just a little outdated. It is kind of far from the main restaurant/club part of the Riverwalk but a nice walk at that.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Just valet your car and walk to the main part of the Riverwalk. It's not exactly a short walk, but not a long walk either.

a good hotel to sleep in

This is a comfortable hotel to sleep in. The only drawbacks were that the hotel did not include breakfast and in-room wifi - which is the two important things I seek in a hotel. However, the hotel location is strategic to anywhere that we want to visit around town.

Five minute walk on the river

The location is very convenient. It is a short 5 minute walk to the main part of the River Walk. The hotel is nice and everything worked out fine. Our only complaint is they still want to charge for internet access.
