Carefree Inn Lackland

The absolute worst place i could stay at. I could not believe that they did nt charge by the hour this place was so bad.

Stayed here 5 nights.Nothing fancy.My room had LIME green walls. The maid brought clean towels and made the bed while we were out exploring San Antonio every morning. The best part of this place would be that it is right outside Lackland AFB. So if you want to be close to the gate this is the perfect place to stay! It is also close to several fast food restaurants in case you want to grab a quick bite to eat.The worse thing about this hotel was that some nights it was impossible to get the hot water to work so I could take a comfortable shower....maybe had something to do with the high volume of people taking showers at that time of night.Probably wouldn't stay here again unless I had another Air Force graduation to attend.

It was within 100 yards of the Lacklend Air Force base where we spent all of our time. The rooms need to be modernized and some attention given to replacing ceiling tiles. The cleaning staff were more interested in getting their job done rather than providing you with an enhanced experience. The dead bolt lock on the door did not work but the chain lock was fine. The paint and carpets need to be updated. The bed was very firm, TV was local cable, The walls are thin and you can tell what the next room is watching on TV. The bathroom door was showing a lot of wear and tear and needs to be replaced. The main door threshold needs to be replaced.

We did not stay in the Hotel. Once we arrived in San Antonio we decided to stay in town so we could walk to the Riverwalk and all the attractions there

Recently stayed at the Care Free for an Air Force Graduation at Lackland. It's super close! The man at the front desk was very helpful, he shared places that we should go check out and things we should go see. breakfast wasn't anything special: cereal, bananas, oranges, donuts, muffins, eggo waffles, coffee and juice. It satisfied us. The room was painted a bright green, had a tv, fridge, microwave, safe, and desk. The shower had hot water and drained well. My dislikes about the room included old towels (scratchy and dirty), some hair/floor not cleaned well and the ceiling was peeling/stained. It served the purpose of being close to lackland AFB and we were really only in it when we slept. The price was the best around also.

This hotel is good for only one thing. Cheapness. If you are just looking for a place to stay this is it

I did not realize when I made my reservation online that this motel sits right outside the gate of Lackland AFB. It is a motel that has obviously been around for quite a while. It is painted in odd colors that make it seem even seedier. That said, the room was clean, the staff pleasant, the nights quiet, the pool and jacuzzi well maintained. I liked the fact that coffee maker, microwave and fridge were all provided. Wifi worked fairly well. It was a good deal for the price.

the only positive was that I was across the street from my sons AF squad and there was a great Mexican fast food out front. There were bugs in that bathroom and also used soap and stuff in the bathroom , toilet didn't flush and we used the plunger most every time ! But if you don't want to fight the lines and traffic it's worth it. Just pretty dirty

Location was excellent for Lackland graduation for our son and grandson graduation-however the rooms were dusty around beds(we had 3 rooms) and pictures on walls-had to ask for clean sheets,spreads and pillow cases on both beds in one room-housekeepping was terrible-had to ask for vaccuumn to be run-never did get that part done-continental breakfast was not best-good coffee tho!

Was ok. If you like camping you can handle this hotel. Its good for airman graduation. Its literally next to the base. But if you re vacacioning and be a nice place this is not recommended. But if you plan just sleep may be is a good place.
