Americas Best Value Inn

I saw someone who lives in San Antonio. It was ok. It was a last minute thing. I'm glad they had a mini fridge. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and I feel like a mini fridge should be in every hotel.

I came to San Antonio to visite a friend. The stay went well, I enjoyed my time spent.

I would've rather slept outside. First, before we looked at everything we asked for extra towels that we never received. We had reservations for four people for three days and they had only two towels and rags. After getting there we found trash and bugs all over the floor as well as nails and tacks. There was no ashtrays and we reserved a smoking room. The sink had ants all in it. The towels and rags were stained and had pubic hair all in them as well as the bath tub. On pulling the blanket back on the beds, both of them had stained pillows and sheets and had pubic hair on all the pillows and sheets. Needless to say we had already paid for everything and we were from out of town so we had no choice but to stay. We went to wal-mart and spent money to buy our own towels, rags, sheets, blankets and pillows to sleep on and bathe with. It was the most horribly, disgusting, unsanitary place I've ever seen.

The room itself was clean; but had stains on the towels. Also very noisy and when a fight broke out it was of course very disturbing. Our previous trips to America's Best were very good and we will definitely use them again.

ALL THE ITEMS LISTED ABOVE THAT WERE MISSING WOULD HAVE MADE OUR TRIP MORE RELAXING. WE HAVE STAYED AT YOUR HOTEL IN THE VALLEY AND IT WAS MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE. A FAMILY IN THE NEXT RM COMPLAINED ABOUT RATS IN THEIR RM AND APPLIANCES NOT WORKING. WHEN THEY COMPLAINED TO THE OFFICE NO ONE CAME TO DO ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE MATTER.

Very ugly low class hotel and very expensive. I couldn't use the pillows because they had stains the bed looked dirty as well and there was no blow dryer in the room. Bath towels were so small and so thin they were inconvenient for me. Overall I had to go to Wal-Mart down the street and purchase bed sheets and a pillow so that I could enjoy my stay. Uhh Nasty!

Based on my needs, it went above and beyond but still, it lacks the quality of a good motel so it certainly can't get any more than 4 stars. They gave me a what they called a "deluxe" room so I'm rating on this room compared with my motel rooms. Pros 1. Complimentary WiFi (good speed) 2. Excellent Customer service 3. HOT WATER!!! YES!!! 4. Cable with HBO (even though I don't care) Cons 1. Room stinks AND has cigarette smell in a non-smoking room 2. Towels feel like sand paper. 3. Mattress feels is too old (too obvious) 4. Noisy at night (since it's on a busy street) Note: Be sure to bring your own alarm clock. Summary: There is always room for improvement on this motel. If this is their definition of "deluxe," then I wouldn't want to know what other rooms are like.

My overall experience at America's Best Value Inn was goo, however the atmosphere was not pleasing. Rooms were kept in good shape and contained; tv, fridge, spaces for hanging clothes w/ hangers, etc... high speed internet was a plus. It was easy to get to most of San Antonio from this location, glad I brought my GPS though!

The check in/out was very easy and good. The only good experience of this hotel. The room layout was horrible! Had television inside cabinet that you could not watch if moving about room. (had to close the doors to walk or move past/around) Ice machine broken. Hotel mgmt says: We've spent lots of money of ice machine - still not good... (so get a new one???) I will not stay at this hotel again and I do not recommend even for over night. There are better at comparable rates!!!

Americas Best Inn was an interesting hotel. It was not closed off from the busy street and it appeared to have people that were living there instead of just staying for a visit. There was not a 2nd lock on the door and a lot of commotion going on at night. I felt very unsafe and had to prop a chair up to the door in order to get some sleep. The bathroom door didn't close and the tub had mildew around the edges. It was a horrific experience. Next time I will be more than willing to spend more to get a piece of mind.
