Hotel Overview
Good value off the beaten path
Good clean hotel practically in downtown San Angelo. Old TV & a lumpy bed were the only negatives.

New Owner, New Remodel
I travel between San Antonio and San Angleo pretty often, and stay now almost exclusively at this hotel. I used to stay at the Days Inn strictly because it was close to work and all Ineeded was a place to sleep, but happened to stumble across this hotel about June of 2011 and ever since then, this is where I stay. I am up to 23 visits to this place, now. The desk people have ALWAYS been friendly and my room is always clean. My only 2 gripes are that there is not a workout room, and also that the pool is outside under a canopy. During the summer, the wind drives in dust and some debris, but most of the time it is kept clean. Supposedly it may be enclosed to defeat that problem, but, we'll see. I will continue to stay here, and although previous postings say otherwise, look at the dates. I have pictures to post if any questions arise and someone wants proof. Oh, and one other thing, the hotel is only about 2 blocks from downtown San Angelo. The area is being transformed into a mini tourist area and I see a lot of license plates from out of state shopping.

Don't do it! Dirty,dirty, dirty!
Although the front desk was very friendly they were obviously embarassed by what they had to offer. The first thing that happened was the elevator would not come down past the 4th floor (and only one of them worked!) The janitor said he was working on them and to try the service elevator if this one didn't come down. It finally did and the guest who got on the elevator with us said you have hold down the button or it will stop at each floor, sure enough he was right. He also wished us good luck 3 times before he got off at the 2nd floor! We went to our room and the bed was unmade and dirty towels still on the batroom sink. We went back and the desk clerk showed us another room and it smelled so bad because the room next door had over-flowed and the carpets had not ben vacuumed so the clerk gave us their "suite". At least it didn't stink, but when we pulling the torn shower curtain closed there were two greasy hand prints from the previous tenant! We were too tired to complain and spent very little time there. Hated the air mattress. I really felt sorry for the employees and we will never go back.

Horrible DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!
This is by far the worst place I have ever stepped foot in to! Smells of mold and paint. Looked as if a car had drivin into the hotel where the bar used to be, and fence around the hotel leading to the front door. It was hot, and when I ask if the a/c in the rooms work, I was told it will be cold tomorrow, so it won't matter! Needless to say, we left, and booked at the Holiday Inn Express across town, not that is a place you should stay!

BAD HOTEL
The hotel smelled like mold the minute you walked in. The whole upstairs smelled like a sewer. The linen wasn't that clean and the bathroom was dirty. THe beds were like concrete. Had we not asked, there would not have been maid service. The pool was nasty. The "continental" breakfast was a joke. It was 2 boxes of stale cereal. The outside was full of weeds and smelled horrible. I will NEVER EVER stay there again. It should be SHUT DOWN.

In spite of my criticisms above, this hotel has potential. The fact that they were undergoing massive renovation really hurt. It will be awesome in about 3 to 6 months. I would go back just to see what they did. There was no restaurant as was advertised and the full breakfast consisted of toast or cereal. There was also a very funky smell that permeated the whole place, even the rooms. HOWEVER, the rooms were very neat, well decorated, and clean. though small.

You will have to find somewhere else to eat since the restaurant that they advertise has been gutted. I'm assuming it will open again at some point.

Would not stay here again . . .
The description of the hotel was very misleading. When we drove into the parking lot it looked like the hotel was closed down. There were 2 cars (staff) in the parking lot. When we asked if we were the only guests, because it looke deserted, we were told people had checked in and were out eating. We didn't notice additional cars when we returned from dinner or the next morning. There was no landscaping which added to the look of being deserted. The lobby was hot, cooled by floor fans, and very dated. The first room we were given was on the sixth floor. When we stepped off the elevator it smelled like an open sewer. As we walked toward our room the smell did not get better and we notice several doors were missing door knobs. Apparently the Raddison Company has purchased this site and is remodeling. Our room did not smell any better, but it had been updated and looked nice. The hotel staff put us on another floor, 2nd, and the room was okay. Hangers and ironing stuff missing. The swimming pool was dirty and not at all inviting. We had been told that it had just been shocked, but the tiles needed cleaning. The hottub was taped off and had about a foot of water in the bottom. It was quite odorous! We will not be staying here again.
