Motel 6, San Angelo

What stood out for me were the people. Everyone from the front desk, through the maids, to the maintenance people were smiling, helpful and downright friendly. The staff helped make our stay in San Angelo a positive experience.

Family getaway

My room reservation was made by my son. However, it was my younger son and I that stayed in the room. My older son, who made the reservation for me, attends San Angelo State and we will be making return visits to San Angelo. We did a little sight-seeing as well and will do more each trip there. I would have liked to have had a small coffee pot, a bathtub, some sort of t.v. guide, and a box of kleenex in my own room. As a single mother I was also afraid because of the men a few doors down from me. There were 4 to 5 men standing out on the balcony drinking beer for several hours. I did not report it to the staff for fear of retribution from these men so the staff knew nothing about it. However, I believe there should be some sort of security in the evening hours to roam the motel for outside disturbances. These men should have been asked to gather INSIDE their rooms after a brief interlude on the balcony with at least one follow-up after the warning. As far as the location of the motel, it was very convenient from the Loop and easy to find. But it didn't take long to realize I was not in the safest part of town. I'm not sure what could be done, if anything, to make the motel seem more private and safe. We did like the updated rooms, vibrant colors, and cleanliness! Sherry

The good night rest

As far as I can say. It was the best motel stay I ever had. The motel staff were nice and respectful and helpful with driving directions.

not that great but ok for one night

When we got there the lady in front was very nice however, i wish the room was too. it was a small room and when we turned the tv on the channels werent working. i had to call and they told me to make sure the cables in the back were in (well they weren't and they were broken). i dont think a guest at a hotel should have to be fixing what should be ready to go already. i woke up the next morning bright and early and there was actually an insect on me (not very pleasant) from the bed. it was disgusting and i totally freaked out. overall the experience was ok, but then again i literally just used the hotel to sleep so who knows!

Everything I needed!

No complaints! Needed a place to crash while I checked out San Angelo and the university, and had a quick visit with my son. Room was very clean and all I needed for the night. Might not be what you want if you want to sleep in as the rooms overlook the parking lot and you hear all the early workers leave. The night was very quiet. My room was near the back away from the main street.

the cramped family

The rooms where small and there was no bathtub which I did not like. The family was in San Angelo for the livestock show. We did not get there until 4:00 and so we wanted to check in and unload the truck so our stuff was not sitting at the arena and we where not able to check in for another 30 minutes because the room was not clean yet. There was no closet at all or no drawers so we had to find places to put our clothes or live out of a suitcase for 4 days but there was no place to leave suitcases either. If it where just me or just me and my husband it would have been fine but I wont stay there aain with my whole family.

Begin Labor Day weekend

The room was tiny. All the carpet was completely wet. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. They don't even give you shampoo. No fridge or microwave. The rate was $42 + tax. I only stayed one night. I went to a Super 8 in San Angelo for $47 + tax and got a king size bed (very comfortable), a room twice the size of Motel 6, a nice fridge and microwave, a coffee maker, a hair dryer, and a very nice TV. I'll never stay at that Motel 6 again.
