Nice lobby, but room smelled bad
room smelled moldy, and I can still smell it on my clothes. It was nice that I could open the windows.

Nice hotel
Very nice place. This hotel is without a doubt the best hotel in Mcallen. Great breakfasts and confortable rooms.

We very much enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Originally we are from the area & went down to visit family. Our stay at Renaissance Casa de Palmas was relaxing, peaceful and we learned some things about McAllen history that we didn't know previously. It's great that they are building up an Arts District within walking distance of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean & quiet. For breakfast, we had the Lemon Souffle Pancakes with Raspberry sauce...it was so good! We like that this wasn't your "run-of-the-mill" hotel, it has it's own charm. If I have a complaint about anything it's just the the coffee maker was so small & we really enjoy a mug of strong coffee in the morning. It was a real plus that the soap, shampoo, conditioner & lotion are Aveda products. We felt overall like we had a mini-vacation & will for sure return.

Much to our surprise there are a variety of pubs & clubs to go to now. Also, first Friday of each month there is an Arts festival within walking distance of the hotel.
