Mixed review
Clean, comfortable. Room obviously recently redecorated, and tastefully done. Almost impossible to get to at first--well hidden, poor signage; also, located at one of the most confusing highway/frontage road interchanges I've ever encountered--anywhere! Texas needs to get a grip! We were given only one washcloth and one hand towel. When we asked for more, we were told they didn't have any--they had ordered some but they had not arrived yet. (Have they not heard of Sam's or Walmart?) They had barely enough for one per room of each. Our security lock was broken but they fixed it the second day. They're probably just going through a phase, but we will probably not stay there again unless nothing else in that price range is available.

Good times
Hotel was a great atmosphere. Children swam and enjoyed the comfy beds. Nothing needs to be changed. In comparison to other trips, this one ranks up there.

A Good Stay
The hotel was clean and the room was very generous in size. Not to close to good restaurants but easy access to the freeway.

OK for short stay
The location was ok a little hard to find. Staff was friendly at first. But the hotel had some maintenance issues. On check the first room we has the door would jam and could not be opened from the outside or inside. They moved us to a different room no problem. The second room had 2 burned out light bulbs one of which was replaced right away. The plug ins on the vanity in the bathroom did not work nor did the blow dryer. There was another couple and their daughter that were there for the same event we were and they were given the room with the door that would jam and had not been fixed. Went to front desk and asked for more wash rag and was informed the they were all in the dryer ( the hotel was far from full).

College Orientation
The overall stay at this location was good. We attended Texas Tech Orientation, but the location was about 10 minutes away from the school. It is not to far from shopping and food.

Pleasantly surprised
We did not expect much when we booked this hotel for a place to stay to attend a graduation but ended up pleasantly surprised. They increased their prices for the graduation weekend, but so did every other place in town. This was by far the best deal and it was so easy to access all the places we wanted to go in town. The University was really easy to get to - maybe 5 minutes drive. The bummer was they would not let us check in with our two toy dogs until exactly 3 pm. Come on! That gal was not friendly. But when I needed help two other times the other two people were very nice and helpful. But first impressions are always important. The beds were great. The interior lobby area was pretty impressive with the indoor pool - it looked nice. The hotel is a little older so I heard from other guests that they were disturbed by children neighbors. But it was very quiet in our room and the breakfast was good. Love hard boiled eggs as an option. The big problems were the door really rattled in the Lubbock wind and there was no chair for the desk. But having a refrigerator and a microwave - great stuff. The dogs were very happy there, too. So, in all, we thought it was good, especially for the best price in town in an easy access to the rest of town location. Smelled clean and all was neat and tidy when we checked in.

Smoke in Non-smoking Room
The hotel is set up with smoking rooms (facing outdoors) abutting to indoor rooms that are "non-smoking". Unfortunately, any smoking from the abutting room goes to the adjoining non-smoking room. Was bad for the three nights we stayed there. Were told that they were considering to go all non-smoking soon. I told them I would not return again as-is. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, but not particularly bright on one request. Asked to have the toilet plunged. The staff cheerfully entered the room, plunged the toilet and left the room with water dripping on the floor from the toilet to the door. The toilet had water all over the seat and on the floor around the toilet. The breakfast was very good with two waffle machines, cereal, juices and coffee. No issues with this. Had a large area to visit with the family. Noisy one night when some quests decided to make noise around the pool at 4:30 in the morning. Beds were comfortable. The pillows were the thick and stiff type which is not my preference. If not familiar with Lubbock, getting to and from this hotel can be frustrating as it is at the intersection of several one-way streets/freeways.
