Extended Stay America - Laredo - Del Mar

We first got a smoking room and it was horrid. We thought it was the only room available so we rested on there and unpacked. When we left for a family gathering, we wreaked of cigarette. We called the front desk and they were very helpful in getting us a new smoke free room even though we had already messed up the other room. I told her I understood if I had to pay a fee due to housecleaning having to go to 2 rooms the next morning. She said it was fine and totally understood which is great because I was already trying to get a good deal by staying there. The room is a little outdated,but clean. No unknown hair strands, etc. lol the tv is small and old but that didnt matter because they do have free wifi and I had my iPad. Overall comfortable

JUST THE BED IT`S A LITTLE BIT HARD, OTHER THAN THAT EVERY THING ELSE WAS OK

We only stayed at this hotel because of the low pice. $57 per night sounds like a good deal, but the low price was actually too high. We overpaid for this run down, stinky hotel. The bed was hard as a rock, and I had back pains every night. The walls are very thin. We could hear the people next to us and above us at 5:30am. Stomping, yelling, and slamming doors was our alarm clock every morning. The price for pets was ridiculous. $25 per night. Hotels down the road only charged $10 per night. Do yourself a favor, and pick a differnt hotel.

Trash was not changed and room was nothing like it was pictured at all

I bought non smoking room, they gave me smoking one. The room was very dirty. All trash cans were full of trash, garbage.The bed staff were messy and not changed after the former person whoever used it. As if someone left one hour ago and without doing any cleaning and changing process they assign the room to me. it was 1:30 am when I got there, so I could not find anyone to talk.

On the way to Falcon lake stopped in Laredo there was no problem finding parking for my boat. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is located in a quiet area away from traffic with easy acess to the freeway, the mall and downtown.

Well, I didn't get my wake up call and jumped into shower to rush to get ready in half the time I would have ordinarily taken. Then I discovered there was no hair dryer. I have long hair that takes a while to dry. I put some clothes on, ran downstairs--oh yeah no one picked up at the front desk when I called--was going to rush out to buy a dryer when I saw the lady from the front desk cleaning a window in the lobby and asked here for a dryer--she said sure. Saved. Short story-I made record time and got to my appt only 5 minutes late! Otherwise, everything was all right...

On the night of my arrival 1-27-08. I was greated by a cleaning lady very nice and polite and willing to help me. The individual that was on duty was pre-occupied with some paperwork that seemed to be more important than attending the front desk to greet me. I was checked in by the cleaning lady. I believe my room was 317 while exiting the elevator i got a strong smell of Cigarette smoke, i ignored it because i needed to get some sleep. Upon entering my assigned room I noticed that the dead bolt lock was missing the handle, there were dead crickets in the room and the vent cover to the restromm was dangling and i was given a corner room with two windows where down next door was a out door band playing. So to assure that i was going to get some rest i had to put the ironing board up against the door which had no dead bolt handle along with a chair and a pan with a lid in case the door was opened while I was asleep. Call it paranoid, but it was a very uneasy night for a long next day. The next day I was ready to check out completely and one of the Managers convienced me to stay and showed me another room. I decided to stay and got some sleep both nights after the change. I'm got calling it as it is with no regrets to this review. If my stay had been completely good I would have done the review as well.
