La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston Galleria Area

The temperature was way too cold, and they removed the knobs from the air conditioner thus preventing me from making it a bit warmer. I'd say it was about 65 the entire night. If I was given a larger blanket it would have been all right. Also, a yapping dog coming from some place within the hotel woke me up at 8:30 a.m. It was probably best that I got up at that time anyway, but I hate waking to dogs barking. Everything else was satisfactory though.

The only complaint I had is the fan in the bathroom didn't work so after a shower it took forever for the steam to go away. Otherwise everything was really good!

It is a good hotel to stay in for a few days. There's a great breakfast. The only bad thing is that there is only one person in the front desk and sometimes you can be waiting there for a while. Other than that it's good.

I stayed in this hotel mainly due to its proximity to the River Oaks area and the price. This proved to be a mistake. Room - I arrived around 10pm after a long flight, checked in and went to my room. Unfortunately, it wasn't made up, so I trudged back to the lobby with my bags and asked for another. The second room was a smoking room (I had asked for non-smoking) and went back to the lobby again. I was told there were no other rooms. I took the key back and started to walk away, but came back and said, "You just HAVE to have another room". What a surprise, they did. This room was a little larger (certainly no palace) but was at least clean and smoke-free. The whole episode probably wasted 30-40 minutes. The room itself was utterly forgettable. Breakfast (included in the price) was in the main lobby area and was only OK. Transport - I turns out that the address of this hotel is hard for taxis to locate. Two different ones got lost trying to find it to come pick me up for meetings (that I was ultimately late for). I don't recommend it unless the price is right for you.

First time in the city for business. The GPS didn't recognize the address for the hotel, so getting there initially was a challenge. Room was fine, only minor complaint was other guests who had dogs that liked barking in the halls very early in the morning. Would stay here again, and would recommend this to others.

I thought the grounds were beautiful, well kept up. The hotel was what was expected - it was run well and the room was clean except for some hair left in the corner on the bathroom floor. The room smelled fresh and the beds were comfortable. I only stayed one night and didn't use the hotel for anything but sleeping and eating the complimentary breakfast, and of that I ate only a banana and drank a glass of orange juice.

No Receipt at check out, the hostess said you would furnish that. Most companies require the checkout date on the receipt, not just the reservation. Value was not any cheaper than I could have just gotten at the hotel. Staff was helpful. Room was next to a major freeway in Houston so was noisy all night as I am a light sleeper.

The hotel is in a very nice location in Houston with quick access to the highway. The entrance and lobby of the hotel are very nice. The room is standard and works well for a quick weekend trip. Overall, no complains!

Very good for location and price. I've stayed here before, but several years ago. Close to galleria and highland village for shopping. Many good restaurants close by.

The hotel was convenient to the interstate and local shopping around the Galleria area. That said, the freeway traffic is very loud. We had an inside courtyard room and were woken 2 mornings out of 5 to loud voices and conversation (once at 5;15 in the morning- possibly staff members) outdoors. The bathroom tile and tub surround were worn and tired looking. The tub was stained and the shower feature did not work very well. Breakfast is typical for this type of setting. Not very relaxing on our last day as a very young child brought a personal entertainment device to breakfast and played it loudly; he was unsupervised and touched food and serving items from the buffet area. Staff didn't intervene and thus the child had permission to be disruptive. All in all, we did not spend much time at the location as we were visiting family. We might stay at La Quinta again, but probably not that location.
