When you first walk in, be sure to step back and take in the beautiful atrium at the Hyatt Regency Houston, which stretches 30 stories up. This is a great spot to sit back and quench your thirst with a quick drink inside the LobbiBar, before making your way to your room. Accommodations range from the Standard to Business Plan-designed with features for a productive stay away from the office-plus the top floor suite, where guests can absorb themselves in city views, listen to their vacation tracks on the iPod home stereo system, and have a soak in the deluxe marble bath. The heated outdoor pool deck has seats for sunbathing, and the restaurants offer selections for the discerning palate, from juicy steaks to Spindletop's Signature Paella. Luxury tops the agenda at this AAA four diamond hotel in Houston.

Nice place to stay downtown

This hotel was a beautiful building all together. Staff was nice and rooms were clean. The only negative was that it was a decent walk to almost anything. You mostly will need a car or shuttle to get you anywhere (not many nearby restaurants, stores, etc.) But I think thats just because downtown Houston is spread out.

Pretty nice overnight experience

I thought the staff was extremely helpful and curteous. The room was very nice and comfortable...the shower could have been a tad bit better. Parking overnight was expensive and they didn't offer free wifi which was a tad bit disappointing but the cleanliness and comfort of the room was excellent.

Decent business class hotel but overpriced

Everything was pretty much up to par but some of the sparkle was missing. Location was hard to find the entrance and exits to freeways. Valet parking put my car in a far away lot and I was unable to get out from 10 to 2 one day due to a Rodeo Parade that blocked off all the streets. Major inconvenience...had to run 3 blocks to catch a limo to my destination and find a ride back but car park compensated me with a free day of parking.

First time at a Hyatt Regency. Wasn't disappointed.

I had a very nice stay. Room was clean, staff were helpful, location is very convenient to central/downtown Houston. Free shuttle to Minute Maid Park was a nice touch. Only hitch in the stay was they charged for wifi, and then I had trouble connecting on the 2nd day before finally engaging the front desk for support. They didn't charge me wifi fee for 2nd day, for my troubles.

Comfortable

It was pretty comfortable and there's a bar downstairs that was convenient because there's nothing else in the area. I didn't like how expensive parking was and that Internet wasn't free.

good hotel located in the financial dist

i went to houston to go to a few baseball games so this hotel was perfect. its about a 10 minute walk to the park. the rooms are great, the fitness and pool areas are excellent as well. a note about houston, the area this hotel is in is completely dead on weekends so if you are looking for nightlife, this hotel may not be for you. if you have business in the financial district or want to be near minutemaid park. this is an excellent choice

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

other than the ballpark , no recreational areas are near this hotel. houston is huge and everything is a $20 cab ride away. normally i am not a fan of renting cars but this city may be the exception. no great public transport options and cabs get spendy after a while

if you're downtown, it's close to everything. went to see that bb team from houston, they may suck but the hotel doesn't. stayed there about 2 years ago and it's been completely redone. the lobby is great, rooms were new and fantastic and the staff could'nt do enough to please. great place.

Great Price, Service and Cleanliness

This hotel had great service all around. The room was very nice and clean. All of the employees, from the front desk to valet parking, were very helpful. The price and location were great. It's within walking distance to almost everything.
